Sixteen teams from EMEA, Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and China will battle for the coveted Valorous Champions 2023 title from August 6 through August 26 at the Kia Forum and Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles venues.

Valorant fans are looking forward to the next big tournament in the VCT calendar after the conclusion of the VCT Master Tokyo last month. The greatest and last valuable tournament in the current campaign will be the VCT Champions 2023. After staging the world championship in Germany in 2021 and Turkey in 2022, Riot is finally taking the VCT Championship to Los Angeles. The complete schedule, format, and prize pool for the event are yet to be announced.

Three clubs from the EMEA, Americas League, and Pacific League together have already qualified for the competition. The three leagues will also field an additional squad from their respective regional Last Chance Qualification (LCQ).  Fnatic’s breakthrough at VCT Master Tokyo earned EMEA an extra spot at Valorant Champions, guaranteeing that both the winner and the runner-up of the last qualifier will take part in the season-ending championship.

Popular European teams like Fnatic and Team Liquid have guaranteed their presence at Champions based on their success at Masters Tokyo, unlike other fan favorites like Natus Vincere and Giants who must fight in the LCQ to gain a slot in LA. As for LOUD, Evil Geniuses, and NRG, they have secured their place in the yearly competition after dominating the Americas League.

Slated to start on August 6, the Champions 2023 will be the third international competition in the brand-new franchise league, which has been utterly dominated by Fnatic. Fnatic has already won two international tournaments—LOCK/IN Sáo Paulo and Master Tokyo—this year and will attempt to win a third in a row at the upcoming world championship. On the other hand, it will present an intriguing opportunity for other strong teams like Evil Genius, LOUD, Liquid, PRX and DRX to eventually overtake the tenacious Fnatic and unseat them from their global domination by winning the world championship.
