Following the Call of Duty League Major 1, there is an ongoing drama within the OpTic Texas camp. Rumors are everywhere; Brandon “Dashy” Otell commented on the problems even in a revealing stream.

One of the largest and most popular teams in the CDL, they have a very passionate fan base that follows the team very closely. For that reason, when OpTic removed Dashy from Major, rumors swirled.

The rumors haven’t died down, which is why Dashy took to the Friday the 13th live show to answer some of the topics discussed on the OpTic podcats.

Dashy has “attitude problems”?

Seth “Scump” Abner, at one point on the OpTic podcats, suggested that Dashy had been dropped from the team for some off-game issues.

Scump commented:

“We had a talk at the start of the year, and we laid it out on the table.”

“This is what we expect from everybody; this is what we want this year. If we don’t get it, there’s gonna be f**king problems. There were problems… That’s why I wanted Ray to say it’s not performance-based because it’s not performance-based at all.”

On the other hand, it had been confirmed that Dashy’s attitude was the reason for OpTic to dispense with him.

OpTic’s trainer, Raymond “Rambo” Lussier, said:

“the reasons that led us to want to make the roster change in the off-season is what led us to make a roster change at this point.”

Dashy responds in a Twitch broadcast

After the podcast, Dashy answered in a Twitch stream some things he said about him.

Dashy explains that during iLLEY’s absence in the Vanguard season, the team made excuses to make people feel sorry for them.

“wanted people to feel sorry for them”

This caused the player to feel frustrated because his teammates didn’t take him seriously. According to Dashy, this was the cause for becoming the most toxic teammate on the team, and the moment it was brought to his attention, he tried to fix it.

On the other hand, Dashy also commented:

“The reason I was toxic, 80% of it was because of Ray, because 90% of the time he’d bring up a clip in the chat like ‘we’re best in the game on this specific hill.'”

Dashy accused the coach of skipping scrims to go bowling, something that was a bit unnerving for him, yet no one commented on it.

The former OpTic player also claimed to be the loudest player after a loss; his teammates considered them:

“vibe kill.”

OpTic Texas problems before CDL Major 2

After the Dashy problem is fully resolved, the team found itself in a difficult situation. Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro, comments that there was an extra problem for Major 2 and the playoffs.

According to Shotzzy, Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal experienced a situation that may pose an obstacle for the team. During the January 13 broadcast, Shottzy revealed that his teammate iLLeY’s visa process was rejected.

Shottzy commented:

“I’m not going to lie, I don’t know how that s**t works.”

“Apparently he should be good for the Major, but yeah, he’ll be playing out of Toronto [for the qualifiers].”

It is important to comment that OpTic has substantial experience with visa issues. For example, in Black Ops 4, Dashy was pulled out for similar problems. And for iLLeY, it was no different; the player was able to be with his team in the team’s first qualifier game on Sunday, January 15, against Boston Breach, where OpTic won.
