Rumors and news continue in this offseason of the VALORANT Champions Tour and, this time, we have KOI in the spotlight again, as everything points to Marcos “aer0z” Ochoa joining Ibai Llanos’ team as Assistant Coach.

This is great news, especially for aer0z, as he is currently the Head Coach of UCAM. As a result, it would be a big jump in his coaching career to a team at the top competitive level of the VCT. Likewise, these reports mention a verbal agreement that could be confirmed in the next few days.

Reports state that aer0z has reached a verbal agreement to join KOI

According to Alejandro “anonimotum” Gomis of Blix.gg, KOI has verbally agreed with aer0z to become the team’s new Assistant Coach. As a result, the former professional CS:GO player would make his VCT debut with Ibai Llanos’ organization.

Since his jump to the VALORANT competitive scene, aer0z has been part of ZETA and UCAM, two Tier 2 teams on the European scene. However, his best result has been third place in the two VCT Challengers Spain: Rising tournaments played in 2023.

In addition, this also adds much more experience to a team like KOI that urgently needs a change of scenery to compete at the highest level in the VCT EMEA League next season.

On the other hand, this also becomes a great addition for KOI, as aer0z arrives to replace Alex “goked” Kie, who decided to jump the pond to join Leviathan in the VCT Americas League.

Right now, we must wait for confirmation from KOI regarding this move. In addition, it is likely that the organization will make other changes, as their season did not live up to expectations as they finished in 9th place in the VCT EMEA League, did not qualify for the VCT Masters Tokyo, and could not win the VCT LCQ for the VALORANT Champions 2023.

About aer0z

As mentioned, aer0z is a former professional player who was even part of the G2 Esports lineup 2017. However, most of his professional career was spent playing for Spanish teams, i.e., competing at Level 2.

Likewise, the experience that aer0z brings is fundamental for the future of KOI.
