A tool that solves Apex Legends’ biggest issues 

Undoubtedly, the increase of cheaters in online video games has been massive over the years. Unfortunately, Apex Legends does not escape from this because Respawn Entertainment has tried to combat them with different mechanisms. Still, these people manage to continue evading them, and we have seen hackers that make weapons fail, to the most common ones, with infinite life.

Seeing that Respawn can’t deal with the cheaters, many community members have taken it upon themselves to create some methods that have been effective in finding these cheaters.

Apex tool can detect cheaters

A few days ago, Apex Legends Status announced an innovative tool to detect players using cheats in a lobby. In addition to detecting players, it can determine approximately how much RP these players have earned in each game.

It is no secret that players who cheat in any video game damage the experience and the quality of life of the rest of the legal players. Besides, in many opportunities, these cheaters join some lobbies or play with friends to help them to have a safe victory and, consequently, level up as fast as possible.

The additional help the cheaters can give makes the teammates gain a lot of RPs per game. As a result, players can reach the highest level of the game without much effort and, above all, without showing their true abilities.

In the personal opinion of the article’s writer, this is a big folly on the part of players who take advantage to level up. What’s the point of having the highest rank in the game? You won’t stand a chance against legal players if you play without cheating.

Console players are the most affected

There is no doubt that the most affected players are console players since cheaters disable crossplay and search for matches, which makes it easier for them to fall into the same lobby as their friends and thus start the boosts in the game.

Furthermore, this is much more complicated to detect by the anti-cheating systems Respawn implements in the game, as cheaters do not use scripts that can be directly traced back to an account.

The community wants answers from EA or Respawn

While it is true that the launch of this tool by Apex Legends Status has been received in the best possible way by the community, they have criticized that neither Respawn nor EA have spoken out about it.

Even in the different comments of this thread on Reddit, many community members emphasize that Hugo Derave, the creator of Apex Legends Status, should join Respawn’s team to combat cheaters.

However, Derave himself immediately responded. The tool’s creator claims that he decided to do this to collect data and that he only intended to use his new tool for “personal fun” but not to attack Respawn.

In Derave’s statement, we can see that he is happy about the community’s recognition. However, he rejects the idea of joining Respawn. Remember that the website Apex Legends Status is funded through Patreon, and the profits go directly to the creator, so joining the game developers would mean the end of his project.

While it is true that Derave claimed that this tool was created only for personal use, this was a great sample of what is experienced daily on the Apex servers regarding boosting. This is a recurring problem, and we can call it common in all multiplayer games, especially those in which experience points and ranks/levels are at stake.
