What was an open secret is now fully confirmed by one of the most successful esports organizations in the CS:GO scene, Astralis. We are talking about the Danish organization officially announcing the signing of Johannes “b0RUP” Borup and Victor “Staehr” Staehr.
This announcement comes after several days when there were many rumors about the renewal of the Astralis squad. In addition, on June 21, the organization sent one of its legendary players, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, to the team’s bench.
Astralis announce the signing of Staehr and b0RUP
The Danish organization, Astralis, announced the signing of Staehr and b0RUP through a press announcement on its official blog. At the same time, the organization announced that gla1ve would be sacrificed from the team and will now be on the team’s bench after seven years of being the IGL of Astralis’ main lineup.
We are thrilled to welcome @StaehrCS and @b0RUPCSGO to Astralis.
Now, let’s go #ToTheStars.

Staehr was linked with Astralis in recent weeks, and the signing was practically a done deal, but rumors were that the player would arrive in the Danish organization in early 2024. On the other hand, b0RUP is quite a surprise for the team’s fans and the CS:GO community in general, as this name was not in anyone’s reports. The Danish rifler comes from playing with Heroic, Copenhagen Flames, and MAD Lions.
As we mentioned, Staehr’s arrival to the Astralis lineup marks an imminent farewell of gla1ve, one of the legends of this team and the backbone of the lineup that won four Majors. According to the official statement, Astralis is committed to getting him a new home for his former IGL, but he will remain on the bench for now.
A new chapter for our team starts today and our job is now to become a unit, and a team that works together with a goal in mind to become a serious competitor again. I believe our fans have always been a part of that journey, and I hope you as excited as we are. ❤️

About Staehr
The 18-year-old Danish rifler has been in Astralis’ sights for several months after following his performance for more than a year with Sprout, and now, the organization secured its top target. Moreover, Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, one of the legends in the history of CS:GO, on several occasions mentioned that Staehr has great talent and, without a doubt, is one of the most promising young players that Denmark has given in the last 5 years.
Now, the arrival of Staehr and the departure of gla1ve means that Benjamin “blameF” Bremer has to assume the role of IGL of the team from now on. On the other hand, we have b0RUP to fill the gap left by Alexander “Altekz” Givskov, who returns to the Astralis Talent lineup.
The Astralis lineup is as follows:
- Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
- Nicolai “device” Reedtz
- Christian “Buzz” Andersen
- Victor “Staehr” Staehr
- Johannes “b0RUP” Borup
- Peter “casle” Ardenskjold – Head Coach
- Mathias “R0nic” Pinholt – Assistant Coach
- Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander – Benched
