Dota 2 patch 7.35c has been around for several weeks and the impact it has had on the meta has been significant.
Despite the relatively small number of hero changes, this patch brought quite a few characters near the top of people’s preferences. It also nerfed some of the broken heroes of the previous patch, causing their win rate to drop by more than 1% in most cases.
Dota 2 patch 7.35c hero buffs
Here are the heroes that received buffs in Dota 2 patch 7.35c:
Chaos Knight
His Reality Rift now has a greater pull distance than before. It starts at 300 instead of 250 and increases by 50 per level.
Leshrac
His Diabolic Edict now deals 10 – 34 damage per explosion instead of 9 – 30. This buff may seem small but it’s actually very significant because of the large number of explosions created by this ability. When trying to destroy enemy towers, Leshrac can create a huge map advantage for his team in less than a minute if left unsupervised.
The hero’s Pulse Nova was also buffed. To activate it, you now need to spend 50 / 60 / 70 mana instead of 70 at all levels.
Phantom Assassin
Her agility gain per level is now 0.2 higher than before and her Stifling Dagger now has a cast range of 700 at level 1 instead of 550. This is a huge lane buff for PA’s first three levels.
Terrorblade
His base strength was increased by 2 and the cooldown of his Reflection was decreased by 2s at all levels. These buffs are very significant for the hero’s laning phase and mid game.
Dota 2 patch 7.35c hero nerfs
The hero nerfs introduced by Dota 2 patch 7.35c are far more numerous than the buffs.
Abaddon
The cooldown of his Borrowed Time is now 10s higher at every level. This did not make people stop picking Abaddon, but it decreased the hero’s win rate by around 1%.
Arc Warden
His base strength was decreased by 2 and his strength gain per level is now 0.2 lower than before. But these nerfs are nothing compared to the one applied to his Spark Wraith.
Historically, this ability was always very powerful thanks to Arc Warden’s ability to stack Wraiths on top of each other and secure key positions and objectives. But after patch 7.35c, the duration of the Wraith went from 45s down to 16s. For sure, this is one of the biggest nerfs of this patch.
Batrider
His Flamebreak was nerfed by 10%. Or rather, its radius, which is now 450 instead of 500.
Chen
Divine Favor now costs 75 mana. His Penitence receives just 175 damage from the level 10 talent instead of 225.
Death Prophet
Exorcism now gives just 4 – 12% bonus movement speed instead of 8 – 16%. This nerf can really be felt throughout the game but especially before you reach level 12.
Doom
Scorched Earth’s movement speed is now 1% less at every level. This is a tiny nerf that won’t really make a difference in how you approach the game as a Doom player. However, the Doom nerf, which decreases the duration of your ultimate by 4s at level 1, is a major one. By the time you reach level 18, you won’t feel it anymore.
Doom received one more nerf but it’s a small one. His level 10 talent gives just +12 damage to Scorched Earth instead of +15.
Dragon Knight
DK’s Elder Dragon Form received a series of nerfs related to the movement speed and attack speed debuffs applied to his enemies. Both of them went from 0 / 0 / 40 / 60 down to 0 / 0 / 30 (%) / 45 (%). Furthermore, the magic resistance bonus of Black Dragon is now just 20% instead of 25%.
Ember Spirit
His Sleight of Fist costs 65 mana instead of 60.
Enigma
Malefice now has a much smaller cast range at level 1: 450 instead of 600. The nerf gets gradually smaller as you level up this ability.
Faceless Void
The hero’s base armor was decreased by 1, which means that you will start the game with 6% less effective HP against physical damage.
The slow applied by Time Dilation went from 60% to 30 – 60%. Time Lock now works against creeps the same way it does against heroes. The level 15 and 20 talents give slightly less Time Lock damage (+30 instead of +40) and attack speed during Chronosphere (+80 instead of +95).
Hoodwink
His Acorn Shot has a slow duration of 0.35s instead of 0.45s. This can be felt despite the small difference.
Lion
Lion’s Earth Spike now has a cooldown of 14s at level 1 instead of 11s. This is an important nerf because the hero has the capability to refill his mana using Mana Drain. So a 3s nerf on one of his most important abilities is significant.
Mana Drain is now far less effective at level 1 because it only applies a 15% movement speed slow. The 5% nerf is maintained at every level. This ability used to receive some substantial buffs from Aghanim’s Shard. But those buffs have also been nerfed in major ways: 60% magic resistance instead of 80% and +200 break distance instead of +400.
Lone Druid
His Summon Spirit Bear lost 40 movement speed at level 1 and 10 movement speed at level 4. The cooldown of this ability is now 150s – 120s instead of 120s at all levels.
Magnus
Magnus suffered nerfs to his level 15 and level 20 Skewer talents. This ability can only get a 5s cooldown reduction (instead of 7s) and only +275 bonus range instead of +375.
Meepo
Dig’s maximum HP restore is now just 25% instead of 35%. Megameepo gains just 40% of the stats of the other Meepos instead of 50%. This could lead to some significant changes in the item builds used by players who are Meepo specialists.
Nature’s Prophet
This hero received some massive nerfs. Typically, he is very strong during the laning phase because he can teleport with ease from lane to lane and create a lot of opportunities for his team. But now that his base damage was decreased by 3 and his Teleportation has a 75s cooldown at level 1, it’s a bit more difficult to make a big difference in the first 10 minutes.
Outworld Destroyer
When buying Aghanim’s Scepter on this hero, the maximum mana as damage barrier for his Essence Flux is now just 70% instead of 75%.
Slark
Slark had problems before but now he has even bigger problems because his Pounce received a 2s cooldown nerf at all levels, making his initiations and escapes roughly 20% less frequent.
Timbersaw
This hero’s Flamethrower now deals just 70 damage per second instead of 80. And his level 15 talent gives only a 2.5% bonus to Whirling Death stat loss instead of 3%.
Vengeful Spirit
The cooldown of her Magic Missile is now 1s worse at each level, while the damage of her Wave of Terror is now 60 – 120 instead of 85 – 130. This is a huge nerf for level 1 Venge.
Viper
Nethertoxin’s maximum DPS is now 35 – 125 instead of 50 – 125.
Witch Doctor
Death Ward no longer receives True Strike from Aghanim’s Scepter.
