One of the most surprising lineups at the beginning of the season, IHC, will play the BLAST Paris Major Asia RMR as The Mongolz.

This is unexpected news for many community members, as we witnessed the team’s great performance in top-level tournaments. Also, if that wasn’t enough, The Mongolz reached the #18 spot in the HLTV world rankings in February.

For now, there is no official communication or any details shared by IHC Esports. However, the organizers of the BLAST Paris Major Asia RMR, MESA, have announced this change.

Former IHC players will play under the name “The Mongolz”

According to MESA, the organizer of the BLAST Paris Major Asia RMR, IHC’s Mongolz lineup will play the qualifiers for the last Major in the CS:GO era, the BLAST.tv Paris Major, under the name The Mongolz.

Now, The Mongolz lineup for RMR Asia is as follows:

  • Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren
  • Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold
  • Baatarkhuu “Bart4k” Batbold
  • Tuvshintugs “Annihilation” Nyamdorj
  • Chinguun “hasteka” Bayarmaa

The reality is that there is no explanation, so far, for why the Mongolian lineup has parted ways with IHC Esports. Moreover, the organization has not communicated on its Twitter account or made a single post for almost two weeks.

As we mentioned, in February, this Mongolian lineup, playing under the IHC banner, climbed to #18 in the HLTV World Rankings. This resulted from their excellent performance at IEM Katowice 2023, where they eliminated FURIA and paiN Gaming and pulled off a huge upset against Cloud9.

What is more inexplicable about this situation is that the last Tweet from IHC was announcing the signing of hasteka, which was coming to replace Tengis “sk0R” Batjargal, the former star player of the lineup. Moreover, the organization never explained why it decided to release sk0R, and the player revealed that the decision to leave the team was not his.

Uncertain future for IHC

Recall that three founding members of the Mongolian company IH Bit were arrested in early February. Moreover, this company is the main sponsor of IHC Esports. However, according to the organization’s president, Dave Lee, none of the founders arrested had anything to do with the development of esports teams.

About The Mongolz

Many may wonder why MESA’s Tweet refers to the “return” of The Mongolz.

The Mongolz is one of the main tags in Mongolia’s CS:GO scene. Recall that the best player in the history of the game in this country, Enkhtaivan “Machinegun” Lkhagva used the tag along with his teammates to play IEM Katowice 2016 and IEM Oakland 2017.

The Mongolz’ debut will be next April 6, 2023, against Twisted Minds at 08:30 CEST. This match will kick off the Asian qualifiers for the next Blast.tv Paris Major where we will know the two teams from the region that will seal their ticket to the last CS:GO Major.
