YouTube sensation Ludwig Ahgren has joined Charles Christopher “Cr1TiKaL” White Jr.’s esports organization Moist Esports as co-owner

The Super Smash Bros. Esports scene has seen MoistCr1TiKal and Ludwig work together on projects in the past, but their recent decision has shaken the esports community. Ludwig Ahgren, one of the most popular internet personalities, has joined Moist Esports as a co-owner of the organization established by MoistCr1TiKaL.

Even though the organization is just a year old, it already boasts a number of awards. MoistCr1TiKaL incorporated some of these awards in the announcement video, which is set up like a comedic sketch. In the video, Ludwig can be seen discussing how esports companies depend on venture capital investment and cryptocurrency sponsorships to exist because they find it difficult to generate revenue. Ludwig eventually decides to join the organization after Charlie outlines the organization’s accomplishments in an effort to win him over.

Ludwig’s history in esports

Already famous for his love for Super Smash titles, Ahgren recently shattered his all-time audience records by hosting the Chessboxing Championships, which featured prominent content creators and chess masters. In addition to being popular as a streamer, Ahgren has most recently started to plan and host esports competitions.

He organized an invitational Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada last year. He also collaborated with Tarik to host the Valorant tournament, where four of the top North American organizations—Sentinels, The Guard, TSM, and T1—competed for a $50K prize pool.

Ludwig officially enter the foray of esports

Charlie established Moist Esports in 2021 when he announced the formation of his own Super Smash Bros. Ultimate squad for competitive play and signed Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan as the team’s first professional player.

The company has expanded significantly over the years by securing top-tier players, and it now fields teams for several well-known esports titles including Apex Legends, Guilty Gear Strive, and Rocket League. One of the most successful lineups in this organization is the Moist Esports Rocket League team, who won the US$ 90,000 Rocket League Championship Series Spring Major.

While the gaming industry, like other sectors, continues to be adversely affected by the weak economy, the idea of content creators sponsoring their own esports teams is becoming more popular. Another popular content creator Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang recently signed his own Valorant team, which has qualified for the North American Challengers League.
