Fortnite x Pac-Man collaboration launches June 2nd

Publisher Bandai Namco has revealed a Pac-Man collaboration with Fortnite, set to launch on June 2. To celebrate the 42nd birthday of one of the most iconic games of all time, Fortnite players will be able to buy special Pac-Man-themed cosmetic items in the game’s Item Shop. 

While Epic Games hasn’t yet confirmed the Pac-Man and Fortnite crossover, the company retweeted the official announcement made by the Bandai Namco US account. The post confirmed the inclusion of cosmetic items as part of the collaboration, with more details yet to be unveiled. Additionally, the reveal was later confirmed by the official PAC-MAN Twitter.

Another Fortnite crossover

Epic Games is known for bringing various gaming and pop-culture icons into its battle royale. Apart from famous singers or movie characters, fans have already seen numerous iconic gaming heroes, such as League of Legends’ Jinx and Vi, Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, Nathan Drake from Uncharted, and many other game characters appear in Fortnite.

Fortnite’s newest collab with Pac-Min will be the newest addition to the game’s ever-growing list of crossovers, most recently with the Wu-Tang Clan, Street Fighter, RoboCop and Star Wars in Chapter 3: Season 2.

As the current Fortnite season nears its conclusion, fans are eagerly waiting for what the new season might bring. While Epic Games hasn’t yet revealed much information about the game’s upcoming season, it is expected to drop at the beginning of June. Besides the crossover with Pac-Man, some leaks suggest that the new battle pass might also include Darth Vader as a part of the recent Start Wars collaboration, or even Indiana Jones. 

Pac-Man — the icon

Released by Japanese game developer Namco, Pac-Man celebrated its 42nd birthday recently, on May 22. When the game first reached arcades back in 1980, it took the world by storm. It is considered one of the most influential video games by many, and to this day remains arguably the most iconic game of all time, that has been sold in various forms for over four decades. During its existence, Pac-Man has been released on various platforms from arcades to home consoles, to smartphones and everything between. 

Celebrating the series’ 42nd anniversary, a new Pac-Man game joins the family — the PAC-MAN MUSEUM+. The game is set to release on Friday, May 27 and will feature 14 games from the series including the original, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, as well as the

Pac-Man Championship Edition, originally released for Nintendo 3DS, PSP and Android.
