Wo0t to sign with Team Heretics for VCT 2024

With the VCT 2023 offseason in full swing, many Riot Games franchised teams are making different moves to assemble a solid lineup that will allow them to compete and succeed in the upcoming season.

One of these teams planning a restructuring of their lineup is Team Heretics, who have their sights set on Mert “Wo0t” Alkan, a very promising talent ready to show his full potential. However, there is a problem with this player: he is only 17 years old, and, as we know, Riot does not allow any player under 18 to compete in the VCT.

At this point in the season, all EMEA teams will surely make at least one change to their lineup for VCT 2024, except Fnatic. However, Team Heretics wants to make a somewhat riskier bet, as they want to form a young squad that will allow them to grow individually and as a team.

Wo0t would be Team Heretics’ new signing for 2024

As mentioned, Team Heretics wants to make a clean slate with their VALORANT lineup after the bad results in 2023. As a result, players like Auni “AvovA” Chahade and Wassim “keloqz” Cista would have their hours numbered in the team. In addition, there is also talk that Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas will leave the team, but this would be a purely personal decision.

Likewise, everything depends on what happens with the possible signing of Wo0t with Team Heretics since let’s remember that Riot’s regulations prevent players under 18 from playing in the VCT. As a result, the signing of Wo0t would be in jeopardy since the player does not reach the age of majority until March when the VCT Masters Madrid will be played.

Now, at this point, the Spanish squad must take action to solve this problem, which is certainly not easy. Likewise, they can keep Mixwell in the lineup, but he would become the sixth player when the 17-year-old Turkish player comes of age, and we do not know if the Spaniard will accept it. On the other hand, they can play as they did this season, with one of their coaches until Wo0t’s arrival.

About Wo0t

There is no doubt that this signing is very exciting for Team Heretics fans. While he may need time to adapt to the highest competitive level, we face one of the “pearls” of VALORANT in EMEA.

Like Alfajer, Wo0t comes from playing in the regional league of his country, i.e. Turkey, where he has shown on several occasions that he has high firepower.

On the other hand, it is also worth mentioning that Wo0t plays as a Duelist in the Turkish league, but recently, he has played smoker roles with Omen and Viper. We must wait for the confirmation of this signing by Team Heretics and, most importantly, the measures they will take until the Turk turns 18.
