Players who enjoy World of Warcraft can only do so through a PC; however, some rumors have surfaced that things may change.

Many players would love to enjoy this title on their consoles, so many have wondered if it could ever be possible for many years. A few years ago, this option was never on the table; however, it seems that the game’s developers might be going toward releasing the game for consoles.

Will World of Warcraft be enjoyed on consoles?

For many people, the game’s developers have not made an effort to make many changes; since the game’s mechanics have remained the same throughout the years, what is noticeable for all users are improvements in the graphics.

However, if you are much more observant, you may have noticed that Blizzard has made small adjustments, which could be focused on finally launching the game for consoles.

Among these adjustments that support the theory of a console release are the following:

Skill reduction

When comparing the skills of the game’s original version with the current version, we can see that the current number of skills is much lower. The game’s developers have decreased the basic, utility, and mass skills.

So, with fewer skills, players must use fewer commands to play the title; Blizzard has also made the classes relatively easier to play than in the original version.

On the other hand, some time ago, it was possible to see big streamers playing the title with controllers where they are seen performing some tasks or leveling up. In general, what could be an obstacle could be the raids; however, if the raid system is used together with the grouping of fractions, this would no longer be a problem.

Cross-platform gameplay

Another reason that could indicate that Blizzard is changing the direction of the title a bit could be cross-platform play. However, the game’s developers have been known to adapt very well to changes over the years and will likely evolve in this way.

We can already see some of the developer’s games are compatible with cross-platform play. Among these games are:

  • Call of Duty
  • Overwatch 2
  • Diablo 2, 3 and 4
  • Hearthstone

In addition, the mobile application of World of Warcraft already makes it a multiplatform title.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard

With the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, the decision will likely be made to launch this game for consoles, thus being able to include the title in the Xbox Game Pass. In addition, we must remember that Microsoft’s resources are much larger than Blizzard’s, so technical difficulties would not be a big problem.

However, we must wait to see if the game is released to be enjoyed on consoles; everything points to this.
