The gaming community has been abuzz with anticipation, and it seems their patience might finally be rewarded. Reports are indicating that the much-missed Verdansk map is poised for a grand comeback in the upcoming “Call of Duty 2024” game. This news comes after a period of uncertainty and speculation among fans of the franchise.

The recent launch of the Urzikstan map in “Modern Warfare 3’s Warzone” only fueled further speculation and desire among the game’s community. Despite Urzikstan’s recent introduction, avid players and enthusiasts are already looking ahead, eager to know what the future holds for their beloved game series.

Verdanks’s Comeback

Earlier in the year, there was a wave of disappointment when it was announced that Verdansk would be making a return, but only in the mobile version of Warzone. Adding to the dismay was the news that the popular Resurgence map, Rebirth Island, was also confirmed exclusively for the mobile platform.

However, in a turn of events that reignited hope among the community, a report from CharlieIntel on October 5 revealed that Fortune’s Keep is set to make a return to Warzone in early 2024, followed by the comeback of Rebirth Island around the middle of the same year. Rebirth Island, though it had a relatively short lifespan of just over four months, quickly captured the hearts of players, becoming a much-loved map within the Warzone map roster. Its return is highly anticipated and celebrated by the community.

The upcoming year holds promise for Warzone enthusiasts, as reports suggest that Verdansk will be added to the already impressive lineup of maps. Verdansk, which bid farewell to its players in December 2021 as Warzone transitioned to Caldera with the launch of CoD Vanguard, has been sorely missed by its fan base. Players have consistently voiced their desire for the return of this iconic battle royale map, but until now, their requests seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Prayers Have Been Answered

According to a recent report, these long-standing requests are about to be fulfilled. Verdansk is rumored to be a part of “Call of Duty 2024.” Video game insider Tom Henderson has indicated that if “Call of Duty” continues its trend of late October to early November releases, fans can expect Verdansk’s return around December 2024.

Further enhancing the excitement, “CoD 2024” is reportedly another sequel in the Black Ops series, this time set during the Gulf War. The development of this iteration is said to be led by Treyarch, marking the first time a game in the series benefits from a four-year development cycle. This extended development period raises expectations for a game with more depth, polished gameplay, and possibly more intricate and detailed maps like Verdansk.

As the gaming community eagerly awaits further confirmations and announcements, the prospect of revisiting Verdansk in a new and improved “Call of Duty” landscape has certainly stirred a wave of excitement and anticipation.
