The regular season of the VCT EMEA League has ended, and on the last day of Week 8, Team Liquid and FÜT Esports scored victories to end this stage of the tournament on the right foot.

This only means the qualified teams and the playoff crossings are already defined. Below, we will show you the qualified teams for the next phase of the VCT EMEA League:

  • Fnatic | 9-0
  • NaVi | 7-2
  • Team Liquid | 6-3
  • Giants | 5-4
  • FÜT Esports | 5-4
  • Team Vitality | 4-5

Fnatic proved their supremacy in this regular season; by the looks of it, they don’t have an opponent to match in this tournament.

Let’s look at what happened on the last day of the VCT EMEA League regular season.

Team Liquid close with an excellent win over KOI

Team Liquid closed the regular season with an excellent 2-1 win over KOI to secure third place in the standings. On the other hand, KOI finished this first edition of the VCT EMEA League in the penultimate place of the table with a terrible 2-7 record.

The series was played in Fracture (Team Liquid), Split (KOI), and Lotus (decider).

Fracture

Team Liquid started their map pick, Fracture, with some doubts, as KOI found a way to crack their opponents’ defense and won three of the first four rounds played. However, Liquid woke up immediately to get back into the game to take a 7-5 partial victory in the first half.

Then, in the second half, it was all Team Liquid as Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel had a phenomenal awakening to lead his team to a 13-7 victory.

Split

We move to Split, KOI’s map pick, where the Spanish team demonstrated great power from the hand of Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko. After Team Liquid dominated the first half with a score of 7-5, the KOI guys found a way to overcome each of Liquid’s defensive approaches and finally took a close victory by 13-11.

Lotus

Finally, the teams met on Lotus, the decisive map, where KOI hoped to finish this terrible regular season with a win. However, Team Liquid again showed great consistency to take a flawless victory.

After a balanced first half that ended 7-5 in TL’s favor, KOI shut down and couldn’t win more than three rounds at the turn of play. As a result, Team Liquid took the 13-8 victory to close out the regular season with a win.

FÜT Esports crush BBL Esports 2-0

Turkish team, FÜT Esports beat BBL Esports 2-0 on the last day of the VCT EMEA League regular season. Not only was it the fact of the overall score, but FÜT looked infinitely superior to their rivals in this series.

This series was played in Pearl (FÜT) and Haven (BBL).

Pearl

While it is true that BBL Esports had some flashes of great level in Pearl, as they managed to be 5-2 ahead on the scoreboard at some point in the map, the team completely shut down and was overwhelmed by FÜT Esports.

FÜT woke up in such a way that they managed to win 11 consecutive rounds to take a resounding 13-5 victory.

Haven

BBL Esports’ only chance to qualify for the VCT EMEA League playoffs was to win this series, and they failed to do so. FÜT was too dominant during each round, which was especially noticeable in Haven, BBL’s map pic.

FÜT started the first half on their attacking side with a bang, as they managed a 10-2 partial victory, which put them within three rounds of securing the win. However, at the change of sides, BBL tried to wake up by winning five of the first six disputed rounds, but this was not enough, and it ended up falling with a score of 7-13.
