VCT Champions 2023 Bundle surpasses $20M in funds raised

Before the VALORANT Champions 2023, the community was excited to see that the prize pool had risen to $2.25M. This prize is the highest in the history of Riot Games’ shooter. In addition to this prize, we have to add a part of the funds raised after the sale of the skin bundle of the tournament, but there is no doubt that no one expected these funds to be so large.

According to what Riot Games published, the funds distributed to all participants after selling the VALORANT Champions 2023 skin bundle exceeded $20,000,000. As we can see, this is a high figure and, in a very short time, it could be 10 times more than the original prize pool of the tournament.

Through a post on its official Twitter account, Riot Games announced that funds raised from the VCT Champions 2023 Bundle currently exceed $20M.

However, this does not stop there since the sale of this Skin Bundle will be until August 29, 2023, so, at the time of writing this article, there are still five days left for the amount of money to increase.

Also, it is worth remembering that the amount Riot Games shows in the Tweet is about the amount of money distributed to the teams, i.e., 50% of the total revenue of the Skin Bundle. As a result, we have that Riot Games managed to obtain, so far, more than $40M thanks to the sale of these skins, being, without a doubt, the most profitable so far. In 2021, when the VCT Champions Skin Bundle was first launched, Riot collected about $18M, which is $9M for the teams.

On the other hand, in 2022, the sum between the base prize and Skin Bundle funds reached $16M, i.e., teams earned $1M more. In 2023, teams earn the same amount of money as in 2022 with the base prize pool alone, i.e., if the Skin Bundle sales continue to increase, we will have a historical award in the VALORANT competitive scene.
