The VCT Americas League regular season is history, and on the last day of the schedule, we enjoyed an excellent 2-1 win by MIBR against 100 Thieves, which leaves 100T out of the playoffs.

Although MIBR was eliminated and had absolutely nothing at stake in this match, they managed to pull off a great final thrust by taking this victory and eliminating 100T from the tournament. As a result, the six teams that will fight for glory in this VCT Americas are as follows:

  • LOUD
  • Cloud9
  • NRG
  • Leviatán
  • FURIA Esports
  • Evil Geniuses

Let’s see what happened on the last day of the VCT Americas League regular season.

MIBR extinguish 100T’s playoff dreams

When everyone thought that 100 Thieves could get a comfortable victory against a MIBR that did not have a good tournament, the Brazilian squad managed to give a blow on the table and deliver a big blow that, undoubtedly, will not forget for a long time the boys of 100T.

This series was played at Fracture (100T), Pearl (MIBR), and Lotus (decider).

Fracture

It all started at Fracture, the 100 Thieves map pick, where MIBR started strong and cruised to a solid 8-4 first-half victory. Unfortunately, the North American squad could not do much in this first map against the South Americans, as they only managed to win two rounds in the second half on their attacking side to lose 6-13.

Pearl

Then, the teams moved to Pearl, MIBR’s map pick, where the teams gave us a great game that had to be defined in Overtime. It all started with a very inspired 100T winning four of the first five rounds of the map. However, this only made the Brazilians hit back immediately to win seven consecutive rounds and, as in the first map, take a partial victory by 8-4.

Then, as the sides switched sides, we saw much-attacking potential from MIBR and defense from 100 Thieves. The Americans won the first two rounds to score 6-8. Then, MIBR won four consecutive rounds to put the map in check, but 100T reacted immediately to win six consecutive rounds and send the match to Overtime.

Finally, 100T won two consecutive rounds in Overtime to take the map victory 14-12 and even the series 1-1.

Lotus

Finally, we also witnessed a balanced match in Lotus, but only in the first half. MIBR won the first five rounds to secure an even score in the first half. Then, in a back-and-forth over the next seven rounds, we scored 7-5 in favor of the South American squad.

At the change of sides, it was all Brazilian samba as MIBR managed to win six of the eight rounds played to take a comfortable 13-7 victory to eliminate 100 Thieves from the tournament.
