Football is the #1 sport in the world, and its virtual version, represented mainly by the FIFA series, too seems to be growing in popularity.

An indicator that the esports version of traditional football is that an increasing number of football clubs are participating in the development of FIFA esports teams.

This time, the French football club Lille teamed up with their compatriots Team Vitality to jointly establish a FIFA roster at the eLigue 1 Uber Eats Championship.

Moreover, the Spanish organization Movistar Riders received support from such a football monster as Atlético Madrid.

Team Vitality and FC Lille

The world-famous French eSports organization Team Vitality has started cooperation with the equally popular football club Lille. The organizations have teamed up to submit a FIFA roster for the upcoming eLigue 1 Uber Eats.

Nicholas Maurer, Team Vitality CEO commented:

“We are very pleased that, together with Lille, we have achieved our return to the French Championship – eLigue 1 Uber Eats. It is a respected and recognized sports club that shares our vision and ambitions. We look forward to a successful 2023 season for the team!”

The eLigue 1 Uber Eats Championship will begin on January 17, 2023, where players will play one match each week. Vitality players will be wearing new uniforms that have been created especially for them. They will also play in the qualifiers for FIFAe World Cup 2023 in February.

The football giant will also provide a place for players in bootcamps. In addition to the existing Team Vitality site, esports players will be able to train at Domaine de Luchin, Lille’s training center and headquarters.

Team Vitality FIFA roster:

  • Corentine “Rocky” Chevry
  • Lucas “DaXe” Cuyeri
  • Brian “Brian” Savary (coach)

Movistar Riders and Atlético Madrid

Movistar Riders is a popular Spanish esports organization represented in various titles, including FIFA. They have now teamed up with three-time UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup champions Atlético Madrid to launch a new high-profile football club project in esports in early 2023.

The aim of Atlético Madrid and Movistar Riders this season will allegedly be not only to show their leadership in the international rankings but also to continue to be a benchmark in the national arena, building on the common values of both clubs – effort, teamwork, humility, respect, self-sacrifice, and stability. Thus, Atlético Madrid and Movistar Riders will unite fans of traditional and digital football under one emblem.

Note that Movistar Riders are not just the best in Spain, but throughout the world. Last year they became the winners of the FIFAe Club World Cup, which is the FIFA Club World Cup. Then in the final, the duo Andonii and tuga810 defeated Serious About FIFA in a two-match confrontation with a total score of 2:1.

It should be noted that Andonii has been representing the Spanish club for five years already. In 2017, the 23-year-old began his career with Movistar Riders from the day the club entered the discipline. For the player, this was the first and so far the only professional club in his career.

Movistar Riders FIFA roster:

  • Andoniy “Andonii” Payo Martin
  • Diogo “tuga810” Pombo
  • Sergio “Espi” Espier (coach)
