Valve is redefining support for esports talent in The International 2023 by introducing “Talent Bundles” that let fans back their favorite broadcast personalities and enjoy permanent voicelines.

The International 2023 (TI12), one of the most anticipated events in the esports calendar, is just around the corner, and Valve has thrown a curveball with its unconventional approach to this year’s broadcast talent announcement. Rather than a traditional official announcement, Valve has introduced the “Talent Bundle” sticker packs, available through the Compendium. This move has stirred excitement among fans, leaving them to explore the broadcast talent list themselves.

The Talent Bundle offers fans a unique opportunity to financially support their favorite broadcast members, with an impressive 50% of the proceeds directly benefiting the talent. Valve’s dedication to the Dota 2 community is evident in this new initiative, allowing fans to back their preferred talent monetarily.

Four Variations of Talent Sticker Bundles

Four types of Talent sticker bundles cater to varying preferences and budgets:

  1. Standard Bundle – Priced at just $0.99 USD, it includes the Standard Sticker to show support for your favorite talent.
  2. Glitter Bundle – For those seeking a little extra, the Glitter Bundle, priced at $4.99, includes the Glitter Sticker along with a unique voiceline.
  3. Holo Bundle – At $9.99, the Holo Bundle offers the Holo sticker, a voiceline, and an Autograph Rune, providing fans with a more immersive way to back their preferred talent.
  4. Gold Bundle – For the ultimate show of support, the Gold Bundle, priced at $19.99, includes the Gold Sticker, two voicelines, and an Autograph Rune, ensuring fans can fully immerse themselves in the Dota 2 esports experience.

One significant change that will please fans is that voicelines are now permanent, removing the uncertainty about when they will expire. Valve stated, “Voice lines are now permanent, making them quite possibly the only thing in this fragile, fleeting life that lasts forever.”

A humorous Reddit comment points out that “Talents are about to make more money than the players,” underlining the current state of the TI12 prize pool, which is at a historically low figure of $2.9 million USD at the time of writing.
