Valve drops a hint on Dota 2 Patch 7.33

The Dota 2 Patch 7.33 is scheduled to launch in just a few hours, and Valve has already posted a slew of cryptic messages that hint at the changes that will be included in the next patch.

With Valve’s announcement last week that the impending Dota 2 Patch 7.33 will be substantially larger than usual, many fans began to speculate about what might be included in the update. With the patch’s release just hours away, Valve has released cryptic posts with additional information on what gamers can expect from the new patch.

In the message, Valve revealed a number of blatant “riddles,” from confirming the release date of the patch to a handful of modifications that will be made in relation to heroes, items, unit types, and others. According to the teaser, Valve’s upcoming major Dota 2 patch rhymes with “Smaypril Twemmieth” and be released between April 19 and April 21, which translates to April 20 as the actual release date.

What do the riddles mean?

The hints in the riddles point to a few of the changes that will be detailed in the patch notes later today, but they did not provide any information about the exact heroes they refer to or, in some cases, the gameplay elements that will be altered. The answer to the first riddle is likely the Trusty Shovel, which will now allow you to command the annoying Kobold.

The majority of the other lines are either too obvious to be intriguing or too ambiguous to be deduced from. Huskar would be a plausible option for the second riddle because most of his talents don’t require mana, making him a likely candidate for having their hero rebuilt to have no mana cost for their skills. While it is unclear exactly what “unit type” in the sixth riddle refers to, Helm of the Dominator creeps or Lycan’s wolves with increased nighttime movement speed seem like a probable candidate for this alteration.

Some people believe that the fourth riddle’s clue about the soul being compelled back into the body alludes to Muerta Aghanim’s Scepter power. Because it is one of the skills that involve “swapping” life forces between two units, some people think it might possibly have something to do with Terrorblade’s ultimate, Sunder.

The final clue could refer to a variety of things in the new patch, but players and fans have hypothesized that if a team controls both outposts on the map, players might be able to Teleport from one to the other after channeling for three seconds. Other hints are effectively more cryptic, making their interpretation more challenging.
