Top 10 CS:GO plays that deserve graffiti

There really isn’t anything in CS:GO that honors a play more than graffiti! When you’ve already won various trophies and MVP awards, there’s really only the in-game graffiti that a pro player could wish for. Actually, an MVP title or a Major won should be much more important than a graffiti. But even the greatest titles fade at some point and a graffiti remains forever, or at least until the release of Counter-Strike 2.

Valve adds these memorials in the form of graffiti whenever a CS:GO Major has had an iconic play that could decide the game. So far there are 6 of them in the game. But what about all the other iconic moments in CS:GO? It’s the plays that make you talk to your friends, make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and just fall in love with CS:GO. Enjoy the top 10 plays that deserve graffiti.

10. shroud

Shroud’s famous boost tops our list! If there’s one thing Shroud is known for, it’s his incredible aim and outlandish mechanics. But his understanding of the game and his intelligence were most notably seen in the A-Site Boost on Cache. They were 14-15 in the Sevo Land finals against I Buy Power, and being behind didn’t give them the best chance of winning. They tried to make it to overtime armed only with pistols. Shroud was able to boost up to the boxes and then waited for his victims. He patiently waited for the right moment and even finished off three of his opponents before being knocked out by the last one. Unfortunately, even though the Boost boxes were lovingly renamed after Shroud, there was never any graffiti for it.

9. summit1g

We continue with summit1g’s legendary Molotov accident, with which he ignited himself and thus caused the loss of his team. This play has made our list many times, and with good reason. We will probably never forget this moment at the Austin Dreamhack Open 2016 and it will linger on summit1g for a long time. His team Splyce had a good run against CLG on Train and it was 15:11. For them to win the first map, all he had to do was eliminate an opponent and defuse the bomb. That can’t be that difficult for a professional, can it? summit1g managed to knock out his opponent, but as he was heading for the bomb, he ran headlong through the fire of his own Molly. That cost them the win and this moment really deserves a graffiti so players are always reminded of this mistake!

8. Bodyy

Another play that never got graffiti is Bodyy’s famous wallbang, which bursts into eighth place on our list. Wallbangs have made for some crazy plays in CS:GO, but few are quite as impressive as the cross-map wallbangs against Astralis in the ESL Pro League. Maybe you didn’t know it, but back then, if you shot through the garage at 1 minute and 49 seconds towards Z, the probability of hitting a wallbang was extremely high. And that happened twice. Bodyy was wallbanging after wallbang at that moment, so Valve decided to patch the map quickly so it doesn’t happen again. At the time, it was actually thought that this Play Instant would get graffiti, but that still doesn’t exist today.

7. KennyS

When it comes to graffiti-worthy plays, KennyS’ desperate Guardian stabbing is a must! It’s not every day you see the top two AWP players of a generation going head-to-head in a 1v1, but that’s exactly what happened during a particularly chaotic round at ESL One Cologne 2015. The bomb was planned and NaVi player Guardian aggressively pushed forward to take the unsuspecting KennyS by surprise. But what happened next turned out to be one of the craziest scenes in GS:GO history. KennyS dodged two shots from Guardian, but when he couldn’t get the kill himself with the gun, he just pulled his knife. This exciting and dramatic moment has burned itself into our memories and should really get a graffiti.

6. s1mple

It continues with the play of a player who is one of the few pro players in CS:GO who have earned a graffiti in their career: the GOAT of CS:GO s1mple! Again and again the legend shows us why he is one of the best players. He has often made a name for himself mainly because of his creativity and has shaped plays that have now become meta. How many times has he created an unforgettable moment in CS:GO and eclipsed everything in the process? One of those moments happened in the match against Nitro at ESL in New York, where he used a relatively well-known trick. He faked a Flashbang by dropping his pistol, hoping to somehow draw the enemies’ attention to it. But instead of distracting him with a regular pistol, s1mple threw his nearly $5,000 AWP over the wall. Unfortunately, while this move turned into a real strategy, there wasn’t a second graffiti for the CS:GO prodigy.

5. Hiko

Let’s move on to a play that managed to get Hiko into our top five, and it’s thanks to his inhumanly quick reflexes. Hiko has enjoyed a stellar career in CS:GO, but of all his plays there are few moments that impress more than his abnormally quick reaction time, best seen at ESL One Cologne 2014. After all these years, the kill that Hiko used to take down his opponent Getright is still considered one of the best shots in Counter-Strike history. Not even an aimbot could shoot that well. Unfortunately, Valve never felt the need to honor that shot and his reflexes with a graffiti.

4. Snax

Next on the list is a play where Snax has pulled off a stunning 4K Pistol Clutch. In fourth place we present you the Polish star player who has become an absolute legend. He’s made plenty of memorable plays over the years, but one in particular was graffiti-worthy. We’re talking about his insane 4K Pistol Clutch at the ESL New York Finals. It might not be a particularly innovative play, but if you can outgun four of the best players in CS:GO then there should definitely be a graffiti of it. Unfortunately, Cobble has since been removed from the active map pool and changed beyond recognition. Who knows if there will ever be a souvenir of this moment. Maybe we’ll see them again soon when CS 2 comes out.

3. Happy

The Deagle is known for being one of the deadliest weapons in Counter-Strike and one player managed to master it and get an ace with it: Happy. There are, of course, countless legendary Deagle plays and even a few Deagle Aces. But none of them come close to matching Happy’s phenomenal play against TSM on Inferno at Dreamhack Open London. Happy just waited for his opponents to peak and gradually got four headshots with the Deagle and also made the last kill with the Deagle, even though he was looking down the barrel of a P90. This helped his team Envy win the map and later the tournament and if that had happened at a Major then Happy would probably have his graffiti today.

2. CadiaN

For second place we come to a play that created an epic clutch and allowed CadiaN to win the ESL Pro League. He’s had ups and downs throughout his career, but since becoming one of the key players for Heroic and at least since the last BLAST Fall Final, he and his team have become one of the biggest success stories in CS:GO. But what makes his story so special is its happy ending. He was the last of the team alive and started his play with a pistol. He killed an opponent with the knife, eliminated the others with the AWP and only had 2 HP. Against 4 opponents he managed the impossible clutch. Unfortunately for him there will never be a graffiti because it didn’t happen at a major. But hope dies last, even if CadiaN has already said that the support of his team and his fans is more than enough for him.

1. Stewie2k

Curtain up on the front runner of the plays that never got graffiti when they deserved one: it’s Stewie2k with his famous B-site. At the Boston Major, FaZe and Cloud9 faced off in the finals. The exciting match went back and forth and it was even tighter on the last map. Just when it seemed all hope was lost for Cloud9, they were able to fight back with a few rounds and level at 15-14. When FaZe rotated to the B-site in a last-ditch effort, it didn’t expect Stewie2k, who was waiting there alone and with an AWP. With his incredible performance, Stewie sent the map into overtime, where he was able to prevail against FaZe and give his team the Major title! He wrote North American CS history with this play and it’s almost cheeky that Valve didn’t honor him with a graffiti
