The Copenhagen Major Grand Final starts in a couple of hours and the winner will make esports history. This is the first Major in the history of CS2 and the game will probably be around for at least 10 – 20 years. So whoever wins this will gain a lot of prestige.

The two teams, FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere, are already famous. They are two of the most successful teams in CS history and both of them have already won at least one Major in CS:GO.

FaZe Clan’s Chances

FaZe Clan had two amazing years in 2022 and 2023, winning a total of seven S-tier trophies plus Intel Grand Slam Season 4. One of those trophies was won two years ago, at PGL Major Antwerp. The other grand finalist was Natus Vincere.

Under the leadership of karrigan, FaZe Clan’s roster has experienced unprecedented glory. In just three years, this man became the most important IGL in the organization’s Counter-Strike history.

At 33 years old, this is probably karrigan’s last team. It may not be his last season. In fact, he seems to be having a lot of fun right now. But it’s difficult to build something from scratch. So my guess is that he’ll stay for as long as he feels good and the org keeps getting good results. And after that, he will retire, leaving behind an epic legacy.

FaZe Clan’s road to the Grand Final was harder than Na’Vi’s. Historically, FaZe did better than the Ukrainians in direct confrontations. Since karrigan’s signing, there were very few occasions where Na’Vi eliminated them from an important tournament.

Na’Vi’s Chances

Na’Vi entered PGL Major Copenhagen as a huge question mark. Without the GOAT, they didn’t seem to have enough strength to get as far as they have. S1mple is probably amazed at what this incredible roster has achieved.

But can they win this final match? The odds are certainly against them. Assuming that Na’Vi will win requires a ridiculous level of optimism. They have the potential to do it, but the odds are probably 55% / 45%.

For iM, this would be the second failure in a CS Major Grand Final. The first one took place in Paris last year. Since then, he also lost the Grand Final of ESL Pro League S18 against MOUZ (0 – 3). His new team hasn’t won a single S-tier trophy so far. Could this be the first?
