The RMRs for BLAST.tv Paris Major are finally over and we now know all of the 24 teams that will take part in this great competition. For some, the road to Paris looked effortless and uneventful. But for others, including some of the favorites, it was extremely difficult.

In more than one case, a top team got eliminated and disappointed thousands of fans. Astralis, Cloud9, and BIG are just three such examples. But for the most part, the best teams in the world qualified and will delight us between May 8-21.

BLAST.tv Paris Major participants

  • G2 Esports
  • FORZE Esports
  • Apeks
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas

The teams’ status

What’s very unusual about this Major is the fact that the first stage will likely be harder than the second one. There are a lot of top teams that failed to secure a Legend Status spot at the tournament.

With the exception of Natus Vincere, Heroic, Team Vitality, and FURIA Esports, all of the famous teams that are held in high regard by the fans will start the competition in The Challengers Stage. Here are the most important teams that will take part in that stage:

  • FaZe Clan
  • G2 Esports
  • Team Liquid
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • ENCE
  • MOUZ
  • OG
  • Fluxo

Apart from the challenge posed by the other favorites, the top teams will also be severely challenged by many of the other participants. In the RMRs, we were able to see just how strong some of the lesser-known CS:GO teams have become in the last six months.

It’s not entirely clear what changed in these teams’ training style but they definitely upgraded themselves to the point where they were able to successfully challenge and eliminate some of the biggest names in the game.

As a result of the qualitative transformations that some of the tier-2 teams have undergone, there will be four outsiders among the Legends at the Paris Major:

  • 9INE
  • Fnatic
  • Into The Breach
  • Bad News Eagles

On top of that, there will also be numerous strong teams that could realistically eliminate the likes of MOUZ and OG from the tournament:

  • Monte
  • GamerLegion
  • FORZE Esports
  • Apeks
  • Fluxo
