Yesterday, Team Vitality completed their run at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups and won group A with three consecutive victories.

In the final match, against Heroic, Mathiew “ZywOo” Herbaut gave us a sample of his trademark playstyle and was easily the best player on the server. He had the highest number of frags (63) and the lowest number of deaths (39). The rest of his squad was also in great shape.

Lotan “Spinx” Giladi had 62 kills, while Dan “apEX” Madesclaire had 58, even though he’s the IGL and is not exactly known to be a top fragger for the team.

Vitality’s run

Vitality secured their BLAST Premier: Spring Final spot by defeating three teams: Astralis, Evil Geniuses, and Heroic.

In the match against Astralis, the struggle was real for the French side, who started with a good first half on Overpass: 9-6. The final score here was 16-12 and it looked as though the match would be easy for ZywOo’s team, simply because they had won on Astralis’ map pick.

But they actually struggled on the second map as well and got carried by Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, who was the best player on the server win a rating 2.0 of 1.34 and a KD score of 53-40.

Nicolai “device” Reedtz proved that he’s back to his former strength and Benjamin “blameF” Bremer showed us why he was voted as one of the top 20 CS:GO players in the last three years. However, their teammates didn’t do so well and Astralis lost the match. The final score on map two was 19-15.

In the match against Evil Geniuses, Vitality had no issues at all. In fact, the second map of the match, Inferno, which was picked by the French side, was a complete disaster for EG: 1-16. ZywOo finished this map with a rating 2.0 of 2.35! He needed very little assistance from his teammates and EG simply didn’t know what to do.

In the Grand Final, against Heroic, both teams won their opponent’s map pick. The difference was made by an unlikely player: Emil “Magisk” Reif, who stepped up to the challenge on the third map and finished with a KD score of +14. Spinx and ZywOo also did an excellent job. The final score was 16-8.

The best moments of the match were Casper “cadiaN” Moller’s ace and ZywOo’s quad kill with the Deagle.
