Nigma Galaxy qualifies for BetBoom Dacha

BetBoom Dacha will be the final Dota 2 event before The International 12. The tournament is scheduled to take place between September 10-16 and features 8 teams, 7 of which are already known.

Because of the nature of the competition, 7 of the 8 participants are directly invited and only one gets the opportunity to qualify. That one team had to go through an online stage that featured 8 teams. Among them, Virtus.pro, Level UP, Alliance, KZ Team, and Nigma Galaxy were the most important.

At the end of a long struggle, Nigma won. Along the way, the team led by Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi defeated One Move (2-1), KZ Team (2-0), Level UP (2-1), Nemiga Gaming (2-0), and Level UP again (3-0). Nigma lost a match against Nemiga and were forced to win the lower bracket in the play-in stage.

Nigma Galaxy’s current roster

At the moment, Nigma Galaxy is not using three of its best players. Amer “Miracle” Al-Barkawi is inactive, Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf has just returned from Quest Esports after playing there for two months, and Sumail “Sumail” Hassan is currently loaned to Team Aster.

Assuming that Aster qualifies for The International 2023, it’s likely that Sumail will not be back anytime soon.

Nigma’s current roster is composed of the old trio and two new players: Kasra “Mikey” Mesbah and Yuma “Yuma” Langlet. These new players are yet to be tested against world-class opponents but they’ve already demonstrated a high level of ability in various matches.

Nigma’s opponents at BetBoom Dacha

At the upcoming BetBoom Dacha, Nigma will face very strong opposition because 6 of the world’s best teams will compete in the tournament.

Team Spirit, who recently won Riyadh Masters 2023, will be there. Gaimin Gladiators, who have been the strongest team of the season overall, will also be there.

Apart from Spirit, the other two top EEU teams (BetBoom Team and 9Pandas) will compete in the tournament.

The other two participants that are known at the moment are Team Aster and beastcoast. Both of them are among the best in their respective regions.

To say that Nigma Galaxy are underdogs in this race is an understatement. There’s almost no chance that KuroKy will manage to win even a single match. But he might prove able to. In the good old days, when KuroKy was one of the best captains in the world, this level of competition wouldn’t have overwhelmed him.
