Team Vitality beat Movistar Riders to win Group A of ESL Pro League S18

Group A of the ESL Pro League S18 is defined, and we already know the four qualifiers for the playoffs. However, although Team Vitality and Movistar Riders had already secured their place in the tournament’s next phase, they had to play to define the first of the group. Let’s remember that the winner of each group starts from the Quarterfinals in the playoffs that is, skips two rounds.

As a result, we have that Team Vitality, as we all expected, got a crushing 2-0 victory over Movistar Riders to win Group A. On the other hand, despite the defeat, there is no doubt that this tournament has been a complete success for the Movistar Riders guys since the Spanish squad was completely missing from the CS:GO tier 1 scene.

Team Vitality steamrolls over Movistar Riders to win Group A

Team Vitality was in charge of eradicating all the hopes of the Spanish Movistar Riders squad to win Group A, as, with a crushing 2-0 victory, they managed to take the victory to ensure their start from the Quarterfinals in the playoffs of this ESL Pro League S18. Vitality was always superior to Movistar Riders; there is no doubt about that. However, the Spaniards put their chests out and proved they were not an easy team to beat.

Overpass

It all started in Overpass, the map pick of Movistar Riders, where Team Vitality began to show their claws and excellent play level. However, the Spanish squad made it a bit complicated in the first half, as they managed to win 6 rounds on their T-side, so the partial score ended 9-6 in favor of Team Vitality.

Then, at the change of sides, Team Vitality quickly won the first 3 rounds to get 12-6 on the scoreboard. After this, the Spanish squad tightened in defense and won 4 rounds to get closer to 10-12. Finally, Team Vitality managed to win the last 4 rounds to take a solid 16-10 victory.

Inferno

The teams then moved to Inferno, the Team Vitality squad, who held absolutely nothing back to take a solid and, above all, quick victory. In the first half, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Emil “Magisk” Reif destroyed the Spanish defense and led Team Vitality to a 12-3 partial victory.

At the change of sides, Movistar Riders could not do much more, and after 8 rounds, Team Vitality took a resounding 16-7 victory. As a result, Team Vitality starts the playoffs from the Quarterfinals, while Movistar Riders starts from the Round of 12.
