The emotions of the BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023 continue, and, this time, we enjoyed an extraordinary victory of Team Liquid over Party Astronauts by 2-1 to seal their ticket to the tournament’s Grand Final.
Undoubtedly, this was a result fully expected by everyone in the community. However, the guys from Party Astronauts showed strength and determination to take at least one map in the series.
Team Liquid, on the other hand, is now just one win away from qualifying for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals, and, most importantly, they are doing so by playing with their Head Coach, Damian “Daps” Steele, instead of Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov.
Let’s see what happened in the series between Liquid and Party Astronauts in the semifinals of the BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023.
Team Liquid beat Party Astronauts 2-1
While it is true that we were all sure that Team Liquid would take the victory in this series, what surprised us all is that their rivals, Party Astronauts, put up much more of a fight than expected.
The series took place in Inferno, Overpass, and Mirage.
Inferno
It all started on Inferno, the map pick of Party Astronauts, where the guys from Liquid started the map very strongly to take an extraordinary 12-3 partial victory in the first half.
Then, at the change of sides, we had a back-and-forth match where Liquid and Astronauts shared the victories for 9 rounds. However, this completely favored Liquid, as they came away with a resounding 16-8 victory.
Today’s lesson: Don’t bring a horse to your party, it’ll crash your Inferno 🐴

Overpass
In the second map, Overpass, things changed radically, as Party Astronauts woke up and could give the blow to Team Liquid to even the series 1-1.
In the first half, Team Liquid started extremely well on their T Side, taking a partial victory by 8-7. Undoubtedly, this is a very close score, but doing it on Overpass and T Side is usually a bit tricky.
Then, at the change of sides, the Party Astronauts offense, commanded by William “spek” Smith and Wesley “viz” Harris, destroyed Team Liquid’s approaches and, after 12 rounds (9-3), they managed to take the victory by 16-11 and even the series 1-1.
.@Partynauts_GG are NOT done yet and takes Overpass with an impressive T side 🚀

Mirage
Finally, Mirage was the stage that saw Team Liquid shine to seal their ticket to the Grand Final of this online tournament.
It all started with a mind-blowing offensive by Liquid, who managed a partial victory in the first half by 10-5. Robert “Patsi” Isyanov had a spectacular first half with 130.1 ADR and a 1.91 Rating.
Then, at the change of sides, Team Liquid’s defense did its job to perfection, as, after only 8 rounds (6-2), they managed to take the victory by 16-7 and seal their ticket to the Grand Final.
One hell of an NA match but @TeamLiquidCS show what they’re made of on Mirage, and are one match away from Fall Final 💪@Partynauts_GG put up at great fight, GGWP 🫡#BLASTPremier pic.twitter.com/lUN1IyeMvR
