Every day that passes, we are much closer to the start of the next The International 12, and, at the same time, we are close to the day when all the teams must have their lineups defined for the qualifiers. This time, one of the most important teams in the Dota 2 competitive scene, OG, is at the center of the news, as they have decided to send Tommy “Taiga” Le to the team’s inactive list.

This makes us think that the winningest organization in the world in the history of Dota 2 is still considering a renewal of its roster. In addition, they have little time to get their fifth player for the TI12 qualifiers.

OG send Taiga to the inactive list

OG announced they are sending Taiga to the inactive list by posting on their official Twitter account. As a result, the team is without the 25-year-old Norwegian in the qualifiers for TI 2023.

Currently, OG is searching for Support to complete their lineup, in which they have one of the game’s legends, Sebastien “Ceb” Debs. As noted in the post, OG mentions that Taiga can explore his options before the IT qualifiers begin. However, he will most likely play on loan for some other team aiming to qualify for the top tournament of the Dota 2 season.

About Taiga

The Norwegian Support came to OG’s ranks in the 2021 season when the organization decided to restructure its lineup by letting go of the core that led them to win the TI in 2018 and 2019.

Since his arrival, Taiga tried to give his best to bring OG back to the top of the competitive scene in Dota 2. However, the team’s results in the two seasons of the DPC have not been as expected, so he will have to look for a new home.

At the same time, Taiga was a mainstay in the fifth Major won in OG’s history, the ESL One Stockholm Major 2022. However, they finished in 7th place in TI11, so their season ended in the worst possible way. Since then, OG’s performance has decreased to the point that they only played the Berlin Major and failed to score the required points to be invited directly to The International 2023.

Ceb’s return gives OG stability

There is no doubt that the return of Ceb to the team gives them enviable stability since they have a player with winning blood. In addition, they also have three other players with a lot of experience in the top level of Dota 2 worldwide, so there is no doubt that the fifth player could adapt quickly to the team.

The closing of the rosters is very close, and there is talk of the possible return of Mikhail “Misha” Agatov to the team’s starting lineup. Let’s remember that Misha is the Head Coach of OG, so he would make a comeback to help the team qualify for TI12.

Likewise, OG still has time to look for its fifth player, as rosters close on August 10, and then they will have a week to prepare for the TI12 qualifiers, which start on August 17.
