After The International 12, many Dota 2 organizations have decided to make a renewal of their squads, looking to put together the best possible team for the next season. Teams like Team Liquid, PSG Quest, and OG announced they will restructure for next season.

Another of these teams is Entity, a European team that started making moves this offseason by sending Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau to the bench. This move comes after disappointing results throughout the team’s year in the DPC.

Entity sends Stormstormer to the bench

Last November 6, 2023, Entity announced via a post on Twitter/X that Stormstormer is moving to the inactive list of the Dota 2 squad.

Also, as noted in the post, the organization mentions that the player can explore options and find a new home for next season. On the other hand, Entity still has not announced who will be Stormstormer’s replacement in the Dota 2 squad, so it is more than likely that they are in expectation of what happens with other teams in the European competitive scene.

On the other hand, it’s also fair to mention that Stormstormer shared his thanks with Entity and expressed his wishes to continue competing at the highest level.

During Stormstormer’s career, we can note that his best level came in the two seasons during the Pandemic, when he played under the Creepwave and Hellbear Smashers banner in online tournaments. At the end of 2021, Entity decided to sign the full Creepwave squad to begin the ascent to the highest competitive level on the European scene.

Entity and its leap to the top

In just a few months, we witnessed a great level of play by Entity against the best teams in the region, and they even took fourth place in the DPC Division I. In addition, Stormstormer was Entity’s mainstay in the team’s success in different online tournaments.

However, everything started to go wrong in 2023, when Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko decided to sign for BetBoom Team, leaving the team without a very important piece and forcing them to change a lot their playstyle. Ultimately, the team could not show its potential in any tournaments they played in 2023.

Now that Stormstormer is a free agent, he may have many teams interested in acquiring his services. Also, this is the perfect time for the player, as many major organizations want to renovate their Dota 2 lineup for the upcoming season.
