FaZe Clan Adds Four MIBR Players to CS:GO Roster

Following an underwhelming last 12 months, FaZe Clan has released a host of players, replacing them with four pros from the MIBR roster. The move follows a similar decision from the Susquehanna Soniqs, who signed players from eUnited to replace their departures.

It is only Leonardo “Astro” Luis who remains with the team, who will be joined by Gabriel “cameram4n” Hespanhol, Jose “Bullet1” Victor, Jamie “cyb3r” Ramos and Lucas “soulz1” Schinke. Joao “voona” Gabriel Nerici, Ronaldo “ion” Osawa, Vinicius “live” dos santos Monteiro and Eduardo “KDS” Santos will all now be looking for new teams. As for MIBR, while Lucca “MKing” Coser did not join FaZe, he was ultimately released anyway.

Why FaZe Made Such Drastic Changes

Matheus “Ramalho” Ramalho will also join FaZe Clan as a coach. The organization has been one of the most consistent in the CS:GO scene, having competed in every Pro League and Majors since back in Season 5. However, 2020 was undoubtedly a disappointment for FaZe, with the team having finished fourth in Season 11 of the Pro League, as well as eighth at stage 2 of the BR6 League.

As a result, recent roster announcements are perhaps not a surprise, with captain Astro being the only player to survive the cut. The loss of Yoona will potentially be a major one for FaZe however, with his relationship with Astro dating back to the Elite Six Brazilian national LAN success of 2016. The duo reunited at FaZe in 2018 at the Paris Major.
However, with FaZe having replaced the departing quartet with four reigning Brazilian champions, it could well be a good move. MIBR pulled off an upset in beating the likes of Team oNE and Team Liquid on the way to being crowned champions, especially given how the season had gone prior. MIBR failed to reach the Six August Major, before finding fourth in the BR6 League standings.

For the new look FaZe lineup, cameram4n has experience of playing alongside Astro at the Six Invitational, while Bullet1 made his name with Team Liquid, winning the Pro League in Season 7. Soulz1 may not be familiar to some, having only made his top-flight debut in Season 11. Finally, cyb3r, has vast experience to his name, having competed at two Pro League Finals, two Six Majors and two Six Invitationals.

FaZe will be hoping that its new lineup gels just in time for the 2021 Six Invitational. As for MIBR, MKing is now their only active player, with speculation mounting as to which direction they will go in. However, with transfers only being available until Sunday, further announcements are expected shortly, with action getting underway on March 20.
