The changes in CS:GO lineups do not only come in the main organizations in the scene. This time, we have the Asian team that has caused a sensation in recent months. IHC Esports has announced the departure of its most important player, Tengis “sk0R” Batjargal.

Absolutely no one in the scene expected this change. However, IHC Esports had been winning several important victories, and its performance in tournaments at the highest competitive level had been exemplary.

IHC Esports announces sk0Rr’s departure from the team’s starting lineup

The Mongolian sensation team, IHC Esports, which has been slowly climbing up important positions within the CS:GO world rankings, announced the departure of its star player, sk0R, a few hours ago.

Remember that IHC Esports has had a spectacular start to the 2023 season. While they have not lifted major trophies, eliminating FURIA Esports and Cloud 9 at IEM Katowice 2023 is an excellent achievement.

However, in their most recent ESL Pro League S17 participation, the team failed to advance to the playoffs after falling to Outsiders, MIBR, and Fnatic. It is not entirely clear if these results in the EPL triggered sk0R to drop out of the lineup a month before the RMR Asia, where two spots for the Major in Paris will be shared.

There is no doubt that sk0R was one of the fundamental pillars of the spectacular comebacks that IHC Esports had in the IEM Katowice 2023. In the Play-In phase, he had the best rating of the team with 1.11, according to HLTV, where they eliminated FURIA Esports. However, despite being the team’s best player in the group stage, he could not beat his rivals and was eliminated.

Uncertain future for IHC’s squad

With the departure of sk0R from IHC’s starting lineup, it is still unclear what will happen to the team. In addition, while IHC has Bat-Enkh “kabal” Batbayar on the bench, he is supposed to be out for six months due to having his first child.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that the community of professional CS:GO players in Mongolia is not very large. This would undoubtedly be a problem for IHC, as finding a replacement with the same level of play as sk0R will be very complicated.

Another alternative that IHC Esports has to replace sk0R would be one of the Mongolian players in the NKT lineup, Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold, Erdenetsogt “erkaSt” Gantulga or Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga.

We look forward to what may happen with IHC for the next Asian RMR to be played on April 6-9, 2023. In these RMR, we will have the following teams fighting for two slots for the next BLAST Paris Major 2023:

  • Grayhound Gaming
  • TYLOO
  • Rare Atom
  • Invictus Gaming
  • Eruption
  • VERTEX
  • Twisted Minds
  • IHC Esports
