Now that the CS Asia Championship 2023 is history and was undoubtedly a success, the tournament organizers, Perfect World Esports, announced that the first Major to be held in Asia will be in Shanghai, China, at the end of 2024.

Thanks to the excellent results of the CAC 2023, Perfect World Esports decided to stay in Shanghai to host the first Counter-Strike Major in the history of the Asian continent.

Perfect World officially announces Shanghai Major 2024

Through a post on its official Twitter/X account, Perfect World Esports officially announced the Shanghai Major 2024, which will take place at the end of 2024.

As we mentioned, not a single Major has yet been held in Asia in the entire history of Counter-Strike. However, after solid rumors several months ago, it only seemed a matter of time before this announcement was made.

On the other hand, the Shanghai Major 2024 was announced shortly before the CAC 2023 Grand Final between FaZe Clan and MOUZ started. Undoubtedly, it was an eagerly awaited grand final that generated a lot of morbid excitement, as both teams have been playing at a high level in recent months.

This Major in China seems to be closing the next CS2 season, as everything points to it taking place in mid-December. Rumors also indicate that the RMR for this tournament will start in early November or late October.

Perfect World wins the second Major of 2024

As reported several months ago, Perfect World will take over the second major of the 2023 season with BLAST. However, the arrival of CS2 at the end of September made Valve decide to suspend the tournament to allow time for the game to be ready for such tournaments.

However, Valve’s plans were only extended, as Perfect World was kept as an organizer of the second Major of 2024.
