The CCT West Europe Series #4 is history, and the Portuguese team SAW wrote another page in the CCT record book by winning the tournament after defeating BIG 2-0 in the grand final.

Undoubtedly, it was an extremely exciting tournament from start to finish. All the teams, from the Play-In Phase to the grand final, gave their all in each of the rounds they played, and SAW prevailed in the playoffs to take the victory. In addition to the $20,000 in prize money, we could also consider it a rebirth for this team that has played a somewhat troubling 2023.

SAW’s Road in the CCT West Europe Series #4.

As we know, SAW was one of the teams invited directly to the playoffs of the CCT West Europe Series #4, so their path in the tournament started directly in the Round of 16. In their first match, the Portuguese team had a very close series against Let Us Cook, ending with a victory for the Portuguese by 16-11 (Vertigo) and 16-14 (Nuke).

Then, the team defeated HAVU Gaming in the quarterfinals, scoring 16-11 in Vertigo and Nuke. While in the semifinals, they also crushed 500 with a score of 2-0.

With this victory, SAW qualified for the tournament’s Grand Final, where they would face BIG, one of the strongest teams of this CCT West Europe Series #4.

BIG vs. SAW – Grand Final Recap

As it happened in the first three matches of the tournament, SAW managed to crush BIG by 2-0 to become champions of the CCT West Europe Series #4. As a result, SAW did not lose a single map in all the matches played in this tournament.

In addition, it is worth noting that BIG had to play the Grand Final with two substitutes, as Karim “Krimbo” Moussa and Marcel “hyped” Köhn took a well-deserved rest.

The Grand Final between BIG and SAW was played on Inferno (BIG) and Nuke (SAW).

Inferno

It all started on BIG’s map pick, Inferno, where we witnessed the Portuguese fury, especially Ricardo “roman” Oliveira, who had 120.3 ADR and a 1.95 Rating and led his team to victory.

In the first half, SAW took a comfortable 10-5 partial victory, which gave them peace of mind at the beginning of the Grand Final. Then, when the sides changed, the Portuguese offense was very aggressive, and BIG could not stop them even once. As a result, SAW took the victory by 16-5 on the first map of the series.

Nuke

It was a completely different story in Nuke, as we had a slightly closer battle, even though SAW started with everything on their T-side with a partial 10-5 victory.

BIG tried to wake up at the change of sides and placed 9-10 down on the scoreboard. However, SAW struck back quickly to win their remaining rounds and took the 16-10 victory.

From Fragster, we congratulate SAW for winning this CCT West Europe Series #4. In addition, our deepest thanks to the rest of the teams that, without a doubt, left their skin in each of the matches played.
