Xbox Games Showcase to be held on June 11

The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 will take place on June 11, coinciding with the same week as E3. On the same day, an event dedicated exclusively to Starfield will begin immediately after this event.

According to Bethesda, Starfield will launch on September 6, not in the first half of 2023, as initially planned. However, Starfield Direct will take place on June 11, dedicated exclusively to the long-awaited space role-playing game.

On the same day, Xbox will hold its summer event with news and announcements: the Xbox Games Showcase. The company has announced it along with the news of Starfield’s release date and has done so with a tweet that does not give much more information about the event: it will be held on June 11 as a prelude to the Starfield Direct.

What can we expect from the Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

There are still months to go until we know what information Xbox is saving for its summer presentation, which coincides with the week of E3 2023. Although Xbox officially will not be integrated into the famous video game trade show.

However, the company is expected to bring its star projects to this presentation; what can we anticipate from the Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

Undoubtedly, Starfield will be discussed at its event. Then it would be time to discuss other essential and expected projects such as Avowed, Hellblade 2, or the partnership with Kojima Productions in this new presentation. In addition, by that time, we should have already been able to play titles like Redfall or Forza Motorsport. All this, of course, without counting all the surprises that Xbox has up its sleeve.

Microsoft Digital Event

In January, Microsoft hosted the inaugural Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct. At the event, release dates for Minecraft Legends and Redfall were announced. In addition, Forza Motorsport was unveiled, and a surprise announcement was made for Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush.

Towards the end of the event, plans for a product showcase in Los Angeles in June were confirmed.

In a recent interview with Xbox On, Xbox boss Phil Spencer was asked if any other significant announcements were planned before this summer’s Showcase.

Phil Spencer replied:

“We are now concentrating a lot on the showcase in June, but some news is emerging.”

On the other hand, Spencer added:

“The Game Pass portfolio is still expanding, but we are primarily focused on preparing for the showcase as a team.”
