Riot Games, at the moment, could be studying how to implement improvements to the balance of League minions to be implemented in 2024.

Since LoL’s debut, one of the game’s most prominent features and a crucial element for the MOBA sub-genre has been set; this feature could undergo improvements to be implemented in the upcoming preseason.

Riot might tune up League minions for better balance

An LoL development blog has recently been published; Riot Phroxzon and Riot Axes have revealed that the development team is looking into ways to make changes that would improve the balance of ADCs and fighters. It is expected that the team will be able to achieve these improvements to launch them in the next preseason.

It is important to note that the two champions’ classes during the last patches have remained incredibly powerful. However, Phroxzon and Axes commented that differentiating the minions in each lane could remedy the problems experienced by these classes.

However, they only revealed that they wish to differentiate the minions of each lane but have not specified how they plan to do so. There may be two options to achieve this: modifying the configuration or introducing new minions.

With these improvements, they could give more depth to the top lane; this issue has generated a lot of complaints from players arguing that it lacks impact in different moments of the game in that lane.

However, it seems that these improvements are only in the initial phase, and it has not been specified if they will be applied at some point in the league.

What is the current status of the league?

At the moment, minions can only be boosted with Baron’s buff, which increases health and, in turn, increases the ability to deal damage. An example is the champions Bel’Veth and Malzahar, who can summon their minions. These minions are not the same as the caster, cannon, or melee minions that usually appear in the streets.

Previously the game developers had to remove two items from the game that were somewhat limited in that their only way to alter a minion’s strength was through Baron’s perk. These items were the Zz’Rot Portal and the Command Banner.

However, these items are not expected to return to the game due to how they were removed; we should also remember that new minion inclusions could be made, but these could take some inspiration from them.

It is unknown what the game developers are planning for the next preseason, but Riot Games has undoubtedly been known for bringing novelties that keep players hooked.
