The final spots for the VALORANT Champions 2023 are being played in all VCT regions worldwide, and the Pacific region is no exception. As in EMEA, teams are closer to punching that coveted ticket to the VALORANT Champions 2023. However, it is worth noting that in the Pacific region, only one team will have a chance to win that spot in this LCQ.

Going straight into the tournament’s development, we have Rex Regun Queon and Gen.G achieved excellent victories against Global Esports and Talon Esports, respectively, to advance to the Upper Bracket semifinals. Thanks to this, only four teams are left fighting for the one and only slot awarded in this tournament for the VCT Champions 2023.

Let’s see what happened on the second day of VCT 2023 Pacific LCQ matches.

RRQ crush Global Esports 2-0

All was set, and RRQ and GE jumped into this BO3 series to define the first team qualified for the tournament’s semifinals. Although they were two very close maps, RRQ could take a step forward to win 2-0 and thus continue with their aspirations to qualify for the VCT Champions 2023. On the other hand, Global Esports says goodbye to its 2023 season in the VCT.

It all started in Split, the Global Esports map pick, where we saw a balanced match from both teams. RRQ started very well by winning the first half by 7-5 on their attacking side. Then, at the change of sides, GE tried to react to get back into the match, but it was not enough, and they lost by 13-10.

Then, in the second map, Ascent, we had the same story as the first. However, unlike Split, in Ascent, the first half ended with an extraordinary score of 6-6, which left, at that moment, an open map in which any of the two teams could win. In the end, after displaying spectacular defense, the RRQ boys pulled out an excellent win, again by 13-10, to stay alive in the tournament.

Gen.G apply a reverse sweep against Talon Esports

The day’s second match gave us three really intense and exciting maps. However, Gen.G applied a reverse sweep to beat Talon Esports and thus stay alive in this VCT 2023 Pacific LCQ.

It all started on Pearl, Talon Esports’ map pick, where the Thai squad more than proved why this was their choice to play the first map. Thanks to an excellent level demonstrated by Apiwat “garnetS” Apiraksukumal, Talon Esports could take the victory by 13-11 and thus start this BO3 on the right foot.

Then, in the second map, Split, we also enjoyed an intense match, as the first half ended with a tight victory for Gen.G by 7-5. Then, at the change of sides, Talon Esports managed to get 9-8 ahead on the scoreboard, but this only made Gen.G wake up, and, thanks to a brutal offense, they evened the series 1-1 after an excellent 13-10 victory.

Finally, in Haven, we enjoyed a spectacular third game that had to be defined in several Overtime rounds. The first half ended with a partial victory for Talon Esports by 8-4, which made us think that the Korean squad could have everything in their hands to take the victory. However, Gen.G woke up in the second half, and, with an 8-4 score, they managed to equalize the map by 12-12 and send it to Overtime. Thanks to the team’s push, Gen.G managed to take the victory by 15-13 and thus stay standing in this VCT 2023 Pacific LCQ.
