The most picked heroes of DreamLeague S20

DreamLeague S20 is coming to an end, and its hero meta has been very interesting to watch. Every team picked what it considered to be the most overpowered options for the matchup and in general. The results are shocking, to say the least.

By far, the most picked hero of the tournament was Techies. And his win rate was impressive: 54.4%! It’s clear that IceFrog will need to do something about this support. Some years ago, hardly anyone was picking Techies.

The world’s best teams were doing it only when their group stage was secured, and they wanted to give the audience an exciting opportunity to watch something out of the ordinary. But nowadays, picking Techies is the most natural thing that you can do.

The hero’s ridiculous attack range (700), combined with his toolkit, makes him a strong pick in almost any matchup. At DreamLeague S20, he’s been picked 79 times until the last two matches, which will be played later today. The next hero in line is Morphling, with just 66 picks. That’s how obsessed teams are with Techies right now.

Apart from Techies and Morphling, plenty of heroes were spammed at this tournament. One of them was Rubick (64), whose win rate has been quite good: 56%. Like Techies, he also seems to be an excellent choice against almost any matchup. His skills are very useful at every stage of the game.

In addition to that, Rubick offers an element of surprise thanks to his ultimate. The enemy team simply cannot play its usual game because this annoying hero will always steal something and ruin its combos. The threat is constantly felt and that creates a lot of hesitation. In turn, this leads to errors and inaccuracies that can be exploited.

One hero that has been very popular and also very successful at DreamLeague S20 was Void Spirit. He got picked 56 times and his win rate was 57%. Among the top 15 most picked heroes of the tournament, only Ember Spirit had a higher success rate: 58.3% with 48 picks.

Void Spirit is great right now because he can build damage. This gives him the ability to farm quickly and destroy enemy supports in team fights. His capacity to roam after level 6 and get kills around the map makes him an excellent choice for high-tempo lineups that need to create space for a carry like Spectre, Morphling, or Slark.
