For those old-schoolers in the CS:GO scene, this could be one of the most exciting news they could receive right now, besides the release of the new Source 2-based game. Yegor “markeloff” Markelov could return to Valve’s shooter, but this time as a coach.

Vladislav “bondik” Nechiporchuk has been in charge of igniting the social networks with this rumor after the fact that markeloff could join Ioann “Edward” Sukharjev as a trainer was mentioned. This news undoubtedly thrills tremendously for all of us who are old school and grew up admiring the talent of this pair of players in Counter-Strike 1.6.

Markeloff and Edward may return to the CS:GO scene

As we all know, many players have decided to return to Valve’s shooter after many rumors revolving around Counter-Strike 2. Moreover, in the last hours, many players stated what they “liked the most” about the “new game” in a possible Test held at ESL Pro League S17.

In addition to casual players returning to the game, many legends want to have their place in this new installment of Valve’s shooter, which could be closer than ever.

In the podcast on Leniniw’s Twitch channel, Bondik pointed out that markeloff, one of Counter-Strike’s legends, is very close to returning to the competitive scene. However, it would not be for a player position, no more and no less; the 35-year-old former player would join as a coach of the Cossacks team. In this lineup, the other legend would also be mentioned, Edward and Bondik himself.

About markeloff

While marke was one of the legends of Counter-Strike 1.6, his path in CS:GO was not as successful as he had hoped, so the player decided to retire in 2018 when he was playing under the Flipsid3 Tactics banner. However, during his CS:GO career, he was part of NaVi and HellRaisers.

markeloff’s career in the CS 1.6 and CS:GO competitive scene lasted 14 years, so there is no doubt that he has the necessary experience to tackle a new role as a coach of any team that requires it.

Edward and markeloff together again

Edward, for his part, has not yet decided to hang up his mouse and mouse and has been active in various Tier 2 teams over the past few years. His last foray into a Tier 1 team was in 2019 when he was part of NaVi for several months. After that, however, the player was part of Cossacks until August 2022.

This Cossack roster was created in July 2022 and was only maintained for a few weeks due to the lack of professionalism of some players. Now, with the possible arrival of markeloff as a coach, it is very likely that this roster will take the situation seriously and return to international competition.

It isn’t easy to see this lineup competing at the highest level. However, having two legends back under one team is great news and, above all, joy for the members of the old-school community.
