pANcada To Remain On The Sentinels Bench Ahead Of 2024

Brazilian superstar and world champion Bryan “pANcada” Luna will continue his absence in the professional scene under the North American organization. The Sentinels Valorant team has decided to approach the 2024 season without pANcada in their plans.

Unfair Treatment In Sentinels?

After winning the Valorant Champions tournament in 2022, pANcada was poached by Sentinels along with his teammate Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi in hopes of building the ultimate Valorant roster.

Though it isn’t a surprise that an organization that could buy Tyson “TenZ” Ngo would have enough funds to afford the Brazilian duo, the most significant question mark was whether pANcada could communicate efficiently in English. With this change, the 24-year-old was forced to learn a new language in a short amount of time.

Things became more challenging for pANcada, as he was forced to change roles to fit Sentinels, going from a Controller to a Sentinel. These two factors were two enormous challenges for pANcada, and it was obvious that he’d need some time to adjust. However, Sentinels cut pANcada from the main roster over bad results.

The world champion had been benched from the Sentinels roster since July 2023 but remained contracted with the organization. Being under contract means two things:

  • pANcada might get the chance to play for Sentinels in the near future
  • pANcada will not be able to look for another team

The latter was bound to happen, as the player is contracted until 2024. However, fans kept their hopes up for the former since the VCT Americas Kickoff was right around the corner.

pANcada Will Not Join The Team For The VCT Kickoff

While Luna was streaming on his Twitch channel, a fan asked whether he was looking forward to playing at VCT Kickoff, which takes place in two weeks.

pANcada replied, “Eager for what? I won’t play.” Apparently, he was still in Brazil while the rest of the Sentinels team is likely in the United States for the event that will be held in Los Angeles.

The North American organization has yet to post an official announcement regarding the situation. Still, pANcada revealed the details on his stream and is most probably not making an appearance for Kickoff.

Taking pANcada’s place will likely be Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro, who has already played with the roster since the benching.

The Sentinels roster fans can expect to see is:

  • Zachary “zekken” Patrone
  • Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi
  • Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  • Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro
  • Mouhamed “johnqt” Ouarid

Simply put, most Brazilians are not happy with the mistreatment of their national star player. Understandably, pANcada himself is unsatisfied with the situation. Not only does he not get to play, but he is also stuck under his contract and cannot find a new home elsewhere.

In November 2023, pANcada posted a highlight clip on Twitter, with the caption translating to: “Why have all this aim if I can’t even play?” referring to his inactivity in the professional scene.
