Overwatch teams Boston Uprising, Houston Outlaws, and Vancouver Titans have revealed their roster moves ahead of the new season.... Shubh | 23. December 2022

Overwatch teams Boston Uprising, Houston Outlaws, and Vancouver Titans have revealed their roster moves ahead of the new season.

While it appears that practically every team in the league is seeking a change right now, certain teams have been quick to reveal their lineup for the upcoming season. With so much prize cash pouring from a successful OWL season, Houston Outlaws and Boston Uprising appear to have put together a competitive veteran team for the forthcoming campaign, while Vancouver Titans brought in more emerging players.

Boston Uprising finalize the roster with smurf

The Boston Uprising has assembled an exceptionally stacked squad, including MVP prospects and former champions. The organization now has Lee “LeeJaeGon” Jae-gon and Kim “IZaYaKI” Min-chul, an all-star support duo that was previously with Shanghai Dragons. Over the previous three seasons, the duo has won back-to-back Role Star trophies for the support role.

LeeJaeGon won the Role Star award in 2020 and 2021, while IZaYaKI bagged it in 2021 and 2022. Joining the former Shanghai Dragon players are the former Washington Justice player Jang “Decay” Gui-un and season one champion Ji-hyeok “birdring” Kim. To round out the roster, the organization has acquired former two-time champion of San Francisco Shock, Yoo “smurf” Myeong-hwan, who will join the roster as its tank.

Vancouver Titans sign former Boston Uprising players

The former Boston Uprising’s core, Leyton “Punk” Gilchrist, William “Crimzo” Hernandez, and Kim “Faith” Hong-gyu have been acquired by the Vancouver Titans for the 2023 season. The duo will join DPS Luka “Aspire” Rolovic, the only member of the Titans still active from the 2022 season. Some of the Boston Uprising’s most valuable individuals from prior seasons are slowly making their way to Vancouver.  Earlier this season, the organization acquired head coach Valentin “Ascoft” Wulfman and general manager Dennis “Barroi” Matz from Boston.

Houston Outlaws acquires champion tank Fearless

The Houston Outlaws have signed former Dallas Fuel tank Lee “Fearless” Eui-seok for the 2023 season. Since the Dallas Fuel’s makeover in late 2020, Fearless, who is widely regarded as one of the strongest tanks in the Overwatch League, has been a member of the team. Except for DPS Oh “Pelican” Se-hyun, who made it through the revamp and is certain to return in the upcoming season, the organization decided to cut all of last year’s roster despite the team’s excellent 2022 campaign.

Kim “Shu” Jin-seo, the former flex support for the Los Angeles Gladiators, will join Fearless in Houston’s roster. Shu has long been a vital part of the Los Angeles Gladiators and has won two Role Star Awards for his performance in the support role. Over the course of his last two seasons with the Gladiators, he won three league championships.
