OpTic enters collaboration with dr Disrespect’s gaming studio Midnight Society

OpTic Gaming has partnered with Midnight Society, the gaming studio founded by popular streamer dr Disrespect. This comes as a pleasant surprise to many fans.

The collaboration appears to be celebrating the release of another “snapshot” version of dr Disrespect’s upcoming game Deadrop next month. It has already been announced that Midnight Society will be teaming up with OpTic Gaming to launch the new Snapshot in Arlington next month.

OpTic Gaming is one of the most reputable esports organizations in the world. The organization has made a name for itself by participating in events from games such as Call of Duty, Apex Legends, VALORANT, and many more. Even if the fan base is currently saddened by the retirement of the Call of Duty legend Scump, the organization is as popular as ever.

On the other side is dr Disrespect, a popular streamer on YouTube, typically reaching around 30,000 viewers. He has been in the industry for many years and entertains the community with his persona like no other. Now two of the biggest names in the industry have teamed up for a joint project.

The merchandise collection

To kick the partnership off, the two brands have launched a clothing merchandise line. There are quite a few options; unfortunately though, this stuff is not cheap. There’s a crew-neck sweatshirt for €75, a snapback cap for €35, a track jacket for €105, and a pair of t-shirts for €40 each. All items are branded by OpTic Gaming and Deadrop.

Deadrop’s “Snapshot V” will be unveiled at next month’s event on March 17. The game is said to be a vertical extraction game that combines elements of FPS shooters, battle royale games like PUBG and extraction games. One of the main inspirations for the game is the survival game Escape from Tarkov.

Deadrop has the potential to disrupt current offerings in the extraction shooter genre, including CoD’s DMZ and Escape From Tarkov. The game is still in a very early stage of development, but Midnight Society keeps players involved in the development process through these snapshots every few months.

Dr Disrespect revitalizes his career

While Dr Disrespect is best known for being banned from Twitch for no reason, he’s since carved out a new career on YouTube and with his own studio, which is obviously doing well. Above all, the collaboration with the merch together with OpTic Gaming could bring him some money and attention from the community, because even if the collection seems a little expensive, such merchandise campaigns are usually very well received by the fans.
