The beginning of the Counter-Strike 2 era continues, and many teams are still looking to get all the necessary pieces to build a solid squad. One of these teams that has been having a lot of trouble lately is NiP, which currently does not have an IGL but likely has already acquired one.

The experienced and veteran Spanish IGL, Alejandro “alex” Masanet, seems to be signing with NiP as a new IGL. Let’s remember that alex is part of the Movistar Riders team, so both organizations should reach an agreement.

Reports claim that alex will be the new IGL of NiP

According to the popular web portal HLTV.org, NiP would have an agreement with Movistar Riders to transfer the veteran Spanish IGL, alex. Although the Spaniard has a contract with the Riders, it ends at the end of 2023, so what they would be doing is to advance the dates.

For nobody is a secret that NiP is living in a complicated moment in the CS2 competitive scene. Even in the last CS:GO events, they were not playing in the best possible way. However, the signing of alex, a veteran in the scene, can help to turn this situation around, as the Spaniard has managed to lead Movistar Riders to great victories.

Likewise, this may be completely different for alex, as it would be the first time in his career that he would be the IGL of an English language team.

About Alex

Alex first came to the Movistar Riders lineup in 2017, where he did not have the expected results, and after less than a year with the team, he decided to leave for Giants Gaming, another Spanish team. However, his adventure in the new team only lasted 3 months since the Riders contacted him again to captain the team.

Since then, Alex has been a fundamental piece in the structure of Movistar Riders, as he has led them to win several A-Tier events. In addition, he has also captained the team in excellent participation in the ESL Pro League S15 and S18, where they finished between 5th and 8th place.

On the other hand, the best result in Tier 1 events for Movistar Riders was the 3rd-4th place obtained by the team at IEM Cologne 2022, where they lost in the semifinals to FaZe Clan by 0-2.

Problems in NiP

Speaking of NiP, we have had many problems in the last few months, with Hampus “hampus” Poser and Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin being the last two players to leave the squad. As a result, Patrick “es3tag” Hansen had to put on the IGL jersey for several games, but there is no doubt that this role does not allow him to display his full potential.

Alex could take a big leap in his career like his former Movistar Riders teammate, Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia. Let’s remember that SunPayus signed for ENCE in the 2022 season and has become the main pillar of this team since then.

Now, everything indicates that Alex will join NiP in the coming days to begin preparation for the Fall Finals 2023, which starts on November 22.
