According to different reports in the last hours, one of the most popular esports organizations in the world, Ninjas in Pyjamas or NiP, would move to the Chinese scene with its VALORANT division. As a result, the organization intends, as with its League of Legends team, to be a force to be reckoned with in this region of the world.

It’s no secret to anyone that the China region is one of the largest in the esports scene. Still, recently, we have observed how both LoL and VALORANT have considerably increased their level of play in this region. As a result, this idea is not far-fetched if fully confirmed.

NiP would move its VALORANT division from Brazil to China

According to independent esports reporter Bo “BoDork” Hoogland, NiP would be thinking of moving its VALORANT division from Brazil to China to get a slot in VCT China which, at this time, is yet to be announced.

Everyone in the esports scene knows about NiP’s popularity throughout its rich history of over 20 years ago. The organization has lifted major trophies in its R6 (Rainbow Six Invitational) and CS:GO (Major) divisions. In addition, it currently has its League of Legends division competing in the LPL, one of the strongest regional LoL leagues in the world.

Let’s remember that LPL teams have won 3 of the last 5 Worlds played, so the region has made an important leap in quality, and currently, they are on par with the LCK.

About NiP

Swedish esports organization NiP decided to enter the VALORANT scene right at the game’s launch in 2020. During the first two years, NiP competed in various competitions on the European continent and even had players like Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel and Emir “rhyme” Muminovic in their ranks. However, they did not have the expected results and were eliminated from the EMEA Challengers.

In the 2022 season, the organization decides to jump the pond to settle in Brazil. Remember that the NiP R6 lineup that won the Six Invitational was completely Brazilian.

In the beginning, NiP was successful in this new region, as they managed to qualify for the Reykjavik Master and even beat Fnatic in the tournament. However, in the Copenhagen Master, they could not replicate the successes, and, finally, they did not get the ticket to VALORANT Champions through the LCQ in South America.

For 2023, the bad news for NiP was that it did not become part of the VCT franchise system as other Brazilian teams such as LOUD, FURIA, and MIBR did.

According to Hoogland, NiP would be considering acquiring the JijieHao lineup, an organization with ties to NiP and even functions as NiP’s Academy team in the LPL.
