The start of the 2023 VCT EMEA League season has been very good for several teams and terrible for others. However, this happens in different tournaments of any sporting event, and many teams consider making changes quickly in their rosters to try to straighten the situation.

In the case of Karmine Corp in the VCT EMEA League, the organization announced that Alexis “Newzera” Humbert is leaving the team’s lineup, and, in addition, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom announced that he is leaving the IGL role of the lineup.

It is still unclear why Newzera decided to step away from the lineup, but, ScreaM claims that he let them down.

Karmine Corp announces the departure of Newzera

The French esports organization, Karmine Corp, announced a few hours ago that Newzera presented his “wishes to retire” from the VALORANT squad, so his place will be taken by Ahmed “ZE1SH” El Sheikh, who was the second coach of the team.

In addition, the organization has also announced that ScreaM would leave the role of IGL and that ZE1SH would fill this position. Recall that this move is due to VCT regulations regarding lineup changes in the middle of the tournament.

While these announcements are normal for a team that has not had a good start to the season, the former IGL, ScreaM, responded with a long tweet expressing how the team feels right now.

As we can see, it is a long statement written by ScreaM. However, it is worth noting that the player asserts that Newzera has “abandoned” the team in the middle of the tournament. In addition, the player points out that he is delegating his IGL duties to dedicate himself to his game and perform better fully.

On the other hand, ScreaM also mentions another similar moment he had experienced since competing professionally in the esports scene, specifically when he played for Team Liquid. While this is not completely confirmed, it is rumored that this all has to do with Travis “L1NK” Mendoza’s 2022 departure from Team Liquid.

Internal problems at KCorp

After ScreaM’s statement, we are left with only one clear analysis: there was a big internal problem in the team that did not let the players show their full potential. In addition, the veteran player points out that, in a team, everything is completely lost if one of the members does not row in the same direction.

Moreover, if we analyze each of the three matches KCorp has played in the VCT EMEA League 2023, we can see that the team was not performing well. In addition, we observed some basic problems when starting rounds. How, for example, in a round where Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom forgot to buy after winning the first round of the map against Team Liquid.

According to VCT regulations, KCorp cannot add a new player to their roster, as it seems they will have to play with ZE1SH for the whole season. However, remember that, besides being the team’s second coach, he was also the official substitute.
