Blizzard announces that the current Overwatch 2 skins will be replaced with new ones that will pay homage to the Overwatch League clubs.

The best way for fans to support their favorite teams in Overwatch has always been through team skins. Unfortunately, the outdated designs of the Overwatch League team skins have been around for five years and need an update. However, all fans must remember that the old skins can be purchased. But when the new skins arrive, they will disappear from the store.

Fan support for the teams with the new features

Overwatch League fans have various options for supporting their favorite teams through Overwatch, including profile pictures, sprays, and weapon stickers. However, the direct use of team skins was one of the first methods by which fans could express their affection.

It’s virtually identical to traditional soccer fans donning Real Madrid jerseys when fans of esports clubs, such as the LA Gladiators or Dallas Fuel, don their home or away skins.

But since the Overwatch League began in 2018, the skins have never changed, unlike the soccer uniforms, which feature revamped designs every year.

Even in Overwatch 2, with its overhauled look, the Overwatch League team skins have not changed and still employ the original character designs with a color change.

Many fans have pointed out that the designs were quite clunky and the color changes were abrupt; an update was needed for the upcoming season. Finally, Blizzard has listened to the opinions of the fans and gives them an answer.

Philadelphia Fusion team changes name to Seoul Infernal

Blizzard has reported that Overwatch League team skins will receive an update for the new 2023 season. But all fans must wait until March 7, when the Overwatch Store will begin selling the original team designs, home and away.

The revised designs could be the result of a team name change. The Philadelphia Fusion team name change to Seoul Infernal is likely the cause of the change.

Also, due to the name change, they needed a new look for the team and new appearances for the game.

However, the modification also removes the ability to use the orange and white Infernal team skins while playing Overwatch League, although they are still available for purchase. Blizzard has not yet revealed the design of the new team skins. But presumably, they will be based on the redesign of each hero for Overwatch 2.
