The April 6 showdown between MLBB world champions has become the most-watched match so far in the ongoing MPL Philippines Season 13.

Data from global esports statistics provider Esports Charts showed that the April 6 match between M5 World Champions AP Bren and M4 World Champions ECHO had generated 340,520 peak viewers – the highest so far for the ongoing season.

This historic match saw AP Bren and ECHO battle it out in world championship-caliber fashion for over an hour, with AP Bren securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory. The Orcas also handed the Bees their first-ever game loss of the season.

Majority of the viewers of this match were from the MPL Philippines YouTube channel, with over 190,000 viewers, followed by TikTok at over 104,000. Data from Facebook live streams are not yet included in the computation.

Previously, the most-watched match of the first two weeks of the season was held by the opening day match between Blacklist International and AP Bren last March 15th, which drew over 292,000 peak viewers.

At third place currently is the Blacklist International versus Minana EVOS match last March 16th which drew 235,721 peak viewers, while two ONIC PH matches round out the top 5.

ONIC Philippines’ match against Blacklist International last April 6 drew 228,000 peak viewers – especially after ONIC’s win against the Codebreakers, while their battle against ECHO last March 16th drew over 208,000 peak viewers.

WHO ARE THE MOST-WATCHED TEAMS IN MPL PHILIPPINES SO FAR?

 

More data exclusively provided by Esports Charts to Fragster revealed the top 5 most-watched teams so far in the season based on hours watched and peak average viewers.

Hours watched is defined as the total amount of hours viewers spent on watching the teams’ videos, while peak viewers is defined as the maximum number of viewers that were simultaneously watching a stream at any one time.

Topping off the list is Blacklist International, with close to 1.5 million hours watched throughout the entire 3 weeks of the tournament. They are also leading in the average viewership category with over 131,900 peak average viewers at any given time.

Second of which is ECHO, with over 1.4 million hours watched so far in the season, followed by AP Bren at third place with over 1.3 million hours watched.

Rounding out the club are Minana EVOS with over 1.1 million hours watched, and ONIC Philippines with over 995,000 hours watched.

In terms of peak viewers, AP Bren, Minana, ECHO and ONIC rank differently.

AP Bren is at second place so far in terms of average viewers, at 125,000, followed by ECHO at third at over 121,300. Meanwhile, ONIC PH has over 106,000 peak average viewers, while Minana EVOS has over 103,000 peak average viewers.

On average, close to 99,000 watch the MPL Philippines games live, and the league has drawn over 4.6 million esports hours watched. In total, the league has also garnered 23.9 million views from TikTok, Youtube and Twitch. These viewership stats may change over time, especially as playoff season draws near. 

The most popular platform so far for the MPL Philippines viewership is on YouTube, and the Tagalog broadcasts are also the most-watched language for the season, Esports Charts has noted.
