It’s official – Aura Fire has a new Pinoy import in town.

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera has been officially announced as the newest member of the said Indonesian squad via a YouTube video posted February 1st.

The former ECHO PH superstar now joins a stellar Indonesian lineup, including Jehuda Jordan “High” Sumual and Leonardo “Kabuki” Agung, for MPL Indonesia Season 13.

The M4 World Champion roamer left ECHO after three years with Orcas just two days prior to the announcement.

Yawi’s move to AURA proves to be a top-dollar pick for the Indonesian organization, in a bid to win their first-ever MPL Indonesia championship.

Last Season 12, AURA has placed dead last in a field of 9 teams. Their best finish so far was a 3rd place showing during MPL ID’s seasons 9 and 10.

Yawi’s aggressive playstyle benefitted his former home ECHO, where gained prominence and recognition, helping the team solidify its moniker of the “ECHO Express” and being the “House of Highlights.”

After a 5th-6th place showing in Season 9, ECHO became the runner-up of MPL Philippines Season 10, and Yawi was part of the MPL Philippines Season 11 championship squad.

The veteran tank main has also been known for his aggressive playstyle – something that he used to sync well with his ECHO and Nexplay teammates, but also drew criticisms from fans and had teams around the region adjust to counter his playstyle.

Prior to the formal announcement, Yawi’s transfer to AURA Fire was widely speculated in social media, given AURA’s close ties to ECHO.
