MinD_ContRoL joins OG

Movements continue in one of the most important esports organizations in the Dota 2 competitive scene, OG. This time, we have that the organization signed Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov as an alternate instead of Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin to play in DreamLeague S21.

Undoubtedly, this move may be somewhat unexpected by many, as the team had been performing well so far. However, you can’t make a mistake in an organization like OG, as everyone in the lineup is expendable. As a result, MinD_ContRoL will be the team’s wingback in the upcoming tournament.

MinD_ContRoL joins OG as Stand-In

Through an official statement on its Twitter account, OG announced the signing of MinD_ContRoL as a temporary stand-in ahead of the S21 DreamLeague.

There is no doubt that this decision is really interesting on OG’s part since let’s remember, MinD_ContRoL won The International 2017 with Team Liquid and has the experience and game mechanics that OG needs right now. In addition, his excellent way of adapting to any situation makes this signing very positive for OG’s aspirations.

The DreamLeague S21 will be the prelude to The International 2023, so the Dota 2 community is focused on this event. Moreover, it is a complicated test for MinD_ContRoL, which returns to the highest competitive level with a very popular organization and elite teammates.

About MinD_ContRoL

Before this stage will start shortly with OG, MinD_ContRoL comes from playing for the last 4 years under the banner of Nigma Galaxy. However, this is not the first time MinD_ContRoL has played Stand-In in OG since he did it during the ESL One Berlin Major 2023. Let’s remember that, at that time, three OG players had visa problems, so the organization had to look for last-minute stand-ins to travel to Germany.

In the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, MinD_ContRoL played a decisive role in OG, as they managed to qualify for the tournament’s playoffs after a mind-blowing Group Stage. However, the team fell in the final stages but finished between 5th-6th place, so it was a great result considering they played with 3 substitutes.

On the other hand, the 23-year-old Russian, Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin, was sacrificed in this move.

After the team failed to qualify for The International 2023, there is no doubt that we all expected a rebuild in their squad, and the first sacrifice was DM. The 23-year-old Russian leaves the lineup after a somewhat disappointing season, but there is no doubt that MD’s style of play was never a perfect fit for OG.

It remains to be seen if OG decides to keep MinD_ContRoL for a longer period or allow him to return to Nigma Galaxy after the end of the DreamLeague S21.
