Look at the Teamfight Tactics 14.7 Patch Notes

fragster Stalingrad 4. April 2024

The highly anticipated Teamfight Tactics 14.7 patch for the Inkborn Fables set is finally here, bringing a massive number of gameplay updates and balance changes. From adjustments to core systems like encounters and loot, to major buffs and nerfs for traits, champions, items and augments, this patch aims to shake up the current TFT meta in a big way.

System Updates

Encounters in TFT will see several quality-of-life improvements with this patch. Certain encounters like the Sett (BIGGER) Carousel, Bard Opening, and Lillia’s Augment Shuffle will appear less frequently to reduce repetition. Carousel encounters have also been shortened in duration for a brisker pace. Rewards for some encounters have been rebalanced – Aatrox’s Gold option drops from 10g to 8g, while Alune’s unit cost buffs get slightly reduced power.

The Portals system has received a fun thematic refresh, with Wandering Trainers becoming “Trainer Sentinels” and Wandering Vendors turning into “Vendor Sentinels.” Instead of training dummies, these portals will now grant living sentinel units that can move, attack, cast abilities and gain bonuses from emblems and support items as they star up. Portals can even offer hero augments now.

Loot adjustments aim to bring more balance to Prismatic Orb drops. Masterwork Upgrades have been removed from Stage 2 Prismatic Orbs, while Stage 3/4 Orbs will no longer grant bonus gold alongside the Upgrade.

Metagame Shakeups

A major focus of this patch is rebalancing overpowered and underpowered team compositions. The Inkshadow trait, often just an off-vertical splash previously, receives significant buffs to make Inkshadow bruiser teams more viable as a pure vertical build. However, the dominant Storyweaver reroll composition gets substantial nerfs, with reduced power on Kayle’s ratios and the Storyweaver bonuses at higher levels.

On the champion side, underperformers like Kobuko, Kha’Zix, Kindred and Lux get welcomed buffs, while overtuned carries like Sivir, Yasuo and Bard are toned down. Four-cost carries Ashe, Kai’Sa and Morgana receive modest power increases to make staying at Level 8 and slow-rolling more rewarding compared to the extreme Level 9 meta dominance.

The patch also brings sweeping changes to many items, both regular and radiant. Gargoyle Stoneplate, Hextech Gunblade, Ionic Spark and Morellonomicon have been nerfed after contributing to overstatted tanks and carries. Meanwhile, powerful synergies like Fine Vintage + Zz’Rot Voidspawns + Heavenly reroll are knocked down a peg through support item and trait nerfs.

Augment Updates

On the augment side, the dead Prismatic augment “At What Cost” has been temporarily disabled, while hero augments like Drop Blossom!, Ethereal Blades and Midnight Siphon get boosted “+” versions when offered on Stage 3-2. This allows players to invest in these game-warping augments earlier without being at a massive disadvantage if chosen later.

Future Plans

The 14.7 patch notes also give a heads-up on some major upcoming changes:

  • The online shop at shop.riotgames.com will be shut down on April 9th, with purchases no longer supported (though code redemption will still work).
  • Support for DirectX 9 in League and TFT will likely end with patch 14.9, requiring users to upgrade to newer hardware and software.

Bug Fixes

2024 04 04T195056.019

As expected, a large number of bug fixes are included addressing everything from VFX issues to incorrect tooltips and trait functionality. Notable fixes include resolving the Mythic stack counter visual bugs, ensuring Lissandra’s ability works properly with units like Annie, and preventing duplicate traits from bugging out Tactician’s Crown units.

The Teamfight Tactics 14.7 patch is a meaty one full of impactful changes across the board. The adjustments to traits, champions, items and key systems seem primed to significantly reshape the current metagame. Whether these changes successfully bring more balance and diversity to Inkborn Fables remains to be seen as the new meta takes shape in the coming weeks. But the patch notes make it clear – big shakeups are coming to the Convergence!
