The developers are planning on introducing more champion quests into League of Legends in Season 2024.

LoL Devs Announce New Champion Quests Introduced in Season 2024

League of Legends developers have announced that new in-game champion quests will be introduced in Season 2024. These quests highlight the relationship between two characters on opposing teams and provide bonuses to the victor once certain criteria are met. The quests have existed in League of Legends before, with Kha’Zix and Rengar, Thresh and Senna, and Ashe, Lissandra, and Sejuani just to name a few.

While the developers have not yet revealed which champions will be receiving an in-game quest in Season 2024, they have teased that Renekton and Nasus will have a new interaction in the upcoming season. The full season is set to release sometime in January 2024.

Map changes and new Herald

Riot has of course also made other announcements for next year, including an overhaul of the map and the Herald. Also unveiled was the new champion Hwei, a mid laner with a painterly design that looks strong and complex. The hype around Hwei is growing after a first look at the champion was given yesterday and the community learned more about his kit.

Lead designer, August Browning, revealed that Hwei originally had a “stealth” ability with a rain cloud, but it was not included in the final version. The now-scrapped ability would have given Hwei a stealth ability. A gameplay teaser for the 2024 season was also released, announcing map changes that will affect all roles and change the traditional pathing and ganking of players. In the upcoming season, the Baron, the Rift Herald and the Blue and Red Buff will have a purple, void-like appearance.
