The fourth day of DreamLeague S19 stage 2 finished with excellent results for Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid, who now have a record of 3 W – 1 L. At the other extreme, OG and TSM are struggling with 1 W – 3 L. However, there are still three matches to be played and a lot could change in those matches.

For half of the eight teams that are still in the tournament, it seems that they are strong enough to win against certain teams but weak enough to be defeated by others. These four teams currently sit in the middle of the rankings table with two wins and two defeats.

Day four results

One thing that can be observed about the fourth day of Dream League S19 stage 2 is that every single match finished with a clean score. Furthermore, the games were relatively short. In some cases, they were unbelievably short.

For example, Gaimin Gladiators defeated TSM in just 12 minutes. This was one of the fastest victories that we have seen in the history of Dota 2. For the audience, it felt as though they were watching a game of StarCraft 2. The final kill score was 20-3 in favor of GG and their networth lead at the 10-minute mark was around 10.000.

We rarely see this level of dominance in a professional match between two teams that are supposed to be relatively even in strength.

In the other matches, Shopify Rebellion won against Tundra Esports despite playing with a stand-in. Tal “Fly” Aizik read Tundra like a book and prepared a very aggressive set of drafts.

In game one, he picked Night Stalker, Lycan, and Pangolier. All of these heroes peak around the 12-15-minute mark and then take over the map very quickly. In game two, Fly went with Nature’s Prophet, Puck, and Earth Spirit. Once again, his goal was to win the early game and snowball from there.

For Team Liquid, the match against Evil Geniuses looked easy. What’s even more impressive is that they won without winning a single game and while playing with heroes that aren’t exactly ideal for the meta. Liquid picked KotL, Bloodseeker, and Luna. Meanwhile, EG picked Io, Leshrac, Spectre, and Death Prophet.

The battle between beastcoast and OG was won by the South American team. In both games, beastcoast picked Terrorblade and knew how to make space for him. This resulted in a big networth advantage and two easy wins.
