One of the most popular players in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitive scene, Håvard “rain” Nygaard, may be considering a break for the next few months due to the birth of his child.

This is a big surprise for all the fans and the players themselves, as this seemed to be one of the squads that would be immovable for the 2023 season, especially after the successes obtained in 2022.

Strong rumors are swirling around this situation

According to what has been published by one of the big CS:GO news leakers, the Russian OverDrive, it is likely that Håvard “rain” Nygaard will take a break from the professional scene due to the birth of his child.

The exact date of this is still unknown, there is nothing official or specific either, but if the Norwegian decides to hang up the mouse for a while, FaZe should move quickly to get a replacement.

Many changes are still expected in the organizations that did not have desired results in 2022. Still, one of the significant changes could come from one of the most successful organizations in the last year.

Russian leaker, Aleksey “OverDrive” Biryukov, noted in his message via his Telegram channel that:

“Rumor has it that rain is going to take a long vacation because he is going to become a father, and FaZe would already have a deputy, possibly Russian. Everything is still on the table and yet to be confirmed, but it could be interesting.”

As we have seen over the past few years, OverDrive is usually correct with its leaks in the CIS region, so it’s not a far-fetched idea.

Rumors place Russian as rain’s replacement at FaZe Clan

Although everything is still a rumor, it is said that a Russian player could take his place.

Remember that rain is the most veteran player in the FaZe Clan squad, as he has been playing under these colors since 2016. In addition, the player confirmed that he would become a father, which is why he could take a break.

There is no doubt that rain has had his most successful year in 2022, as he is one of the main responsible for winning the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, where he also won the MVP trophy.

If this is confirmed, it would be a more than sensitive casualty for a team that needs all his experience and coolness in the highest moments of the games.

In his video posted on the Telegram channel, OverDrive claims that the replacement player would be Russian. However, let’s remember that due to the war in Ukraine between these two countries, the ecosystem of the CIS region is a bit scrambled, so that anything could happen.

Similarly, it looks pretty complicated that FaZe Clan decided to go for a Russian player due to the current situation.

In the next few days, these rumors will be confirmed or not, and we will know the player OverDrive is talking about. However, it is not specified if the break will be in early 2023.

FaZe Clan already has important commitments to fulfill in February 2023, when it plays in the group stage of IEM Katowice. It then connects with ESL Pro League 17.
